Pension 44 - Praga

The hotel was under major rennovation during our stay, making it dirty and noisy. After the rennovation is completed, I would say it would be a good choice if you are looking for a reasonable place to stay and expect nothing in the way of ammenities.

If you want a basic, cheap, clean hotel near to the centre then this is it.

For the price the hotel is fine. It is used by a number of groups of young people, so there is a lot of things going on. The seedier part of Prague is close by, but so are some of the historic places. The city is pretty and this place is OK.

Pension 44 is an ideal place to stay if you are short of time and cash. It is both relatively central (10 minutes walk from the National Museum and 2 minutes from the closest metro) as well as being low cost. I wouldn't recommend the hotel if you are planning on spending a lot of time in your room and looking for luxuries, but I would recommend it if you are looking for good, clean, basic accommodation at a cheap rate. The staff were fantastic also. Overall I think it is ideal for young travellers on a short weekend away.

The hotel was in a fantastic location 10 minutes walk from the top of Wencelas Square. Hotel was very basic but comfortable and clean. Nice bar opposite and a few other nearby. We never made it to breakfast so can't comment on that! Reception staff were fine and friendly enough. They don't clean the rooms during your stay unless you ask apparently, but that didn't matter. Bring your own towel. Can be noisy in the mronings but again not a problem really. Overall, if you are on a budget and want to be close to the centre then I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel used to be in a quiet street. However, a new pub has opened directly opposite resulting in revellers shouting and screamming in the street under your window until gone 2am

Pleasant to stop in, but failed to mention that it was under renovations on our selected dates.Second morning I had to go and asked to be moved to another room as the noise was unreal.The staff have not got great English,but are polite and friendly.10 min from center down hill walk.All in all not bad place to stop.Prague is OK for a few days not good for 8 days

I would highly recommend staying in Pension 44. The hotel is in an excellent location - less than a minutes walk from the nearest metro station, and is very easy to find. The room we stayed in was very large and clean. The staff on reception all spoke English which was a great help, and made checking in and out very quick and easy. The breakfast was very good considering it was free, although seating in the breakfast room is quite limited. All in all, an ideal base from which to explore the city, at a great price.

My friend and I, both students, went for a weekend away to capture the sights of Prague and do some shopping. I am surprised the hotel only has one and a half stars. We arrived late at night but the receptionist didnt mind and was very helpful. Our room was basic but very comfortable, and the beds were to die for, we wanted to bring them home with us!! The main square of Prague is only a 5 minute walk and very very easy to find, also it is very safe at night (and we were to young girls coming home rather late sometimes). Prague itself was more expensive than we had imagined but if you search around away from the main streets you will probably get a better deal (try the steak, they are out of this world!) The only thing bad thing i could say about the hotel is that it says in the description that there is a shuttle service to the airport, well obviously we didnt expect to get this coming from the airport as it was after midnight (we took a taxi which came to just over £15, always get an AAA yellow taxi, they have meters and must stick to them, whereas the other can be complete cowboys and charge you huge amounts!), but when we were going to the airport to come back to Scotland we asked at the reception about the 'shuttle bus' and he said it didnt actually come to the hotel but gave us directions and sent us on our way. Little did we know it was a metro ride and then a bus...but it really was very simple and cheap (the whole thing was about £2).

Really cheap and within walking distance to the new town. The hotel itself is basic but not lacking in anything you would expect. The room was spacious with all the storage space you could need and the amenities were clean and comfortable. However the room itself was very hot and this combined with a noisy street led to our nights being disturbed and uncomfortable. On speaking to other guests however we discovered that this was a problem only we were experiencing. Perhaps because we were on the top floor?

Yeah, it's not the most luxurious place in Prague, but we paid next to nothing for our room and couldn't have asked for anywhere better. The staff at the front desk were always happy to anwer our questions, the room was spotlessly clean and in 15 minutes you can walk to the Old Town Square. If you don't want to walk, there is a Metro station literally 45 seconds walk away, from where you can get to most places in the city. Plus, there are some really nice bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity, places where you won't have to pay top tourist prices either! All in all highly recommended for those on a budget, or even for those who aren't!

Great place to stay very helpfull. Its got what you need a bed shower and wardrobe if you want to stay in a hotel room for your holiday this is not for you!!! Recommend taking a towel however reception will offer you others although small. Be prepared to share a king sized bed though!!!!

Resepsjonen, og heisen så helt forferdelig ut, men rommet var svært bra med tanke på prisen for å bo der!

Sentralt hotell, med bra og billige restauranter i nærheten. Kort vei til metro og trikk. Rommet var bra, men ingen tv, og litt harde madrasser. Lyst, fint og rent. Dårlige håndklær - anbefales å ta med. Ganger/trapper/heis/resepsjon så ganske elendig ut, mørkt og slitt. Ingen koselig sitteplass/salong. Men hyggelig personale.

Vi forventet ikke mye, fikk ikke mye heller. første inntrykk var et forlatt hotell, vi kom på kvelden og alt lys i resepsjonen og gangnen var slått av. resepsjonistene var interessert og ga oss klare beskjeder, dette var positivt. frokosten var helt forferdelig, vi spiste aldri der igjen. Rommet var derimot stort med badekar, kaldt da vi kom, men varmovnen fungerte samt kjøleskapet da vi koblet det til.

Ne pas se laisser rebuter par l'aspect austère, type communiste années 70, de l'entrée et des parties communes, et par le caractère peu amène des réceptionnistes. Les chambres sont refaites, confortables, spacieuses et propres. Bon rapport qualité-prix et une localisation qui sans être excentrée permet de découvrir des quartiers où on ne s'aventurerait pas spontanément. Une assez bonne adresse, si on saute le petit-déjeuner, carrément suspect.

Enkelt men funktionellt hotell. Läget är riktigt bra, men mysfaktorn var inte så hög :-)). För det priset kan man inte räkna med bättre, jag är helt klart nöjd.

A hotel egyszerűen berendezett, mégis kényelmes, tiszta. A munkatársak segítőkészek, jól beszélnek angolul. A reggeli lehetett volna kicsit változatosabb. meg voltunk elégedve a hotellel.

Alt i alt giver jeg den et 7 med pil ned ad pga. morgenmaden kunne godt være bedre end de serveret. Men ellers var alt perfekt hvis man skulle tænke på at det var en 1½ stjerne hotel.

Beliggenhed nær centrum, metro og sporvogn. Roligt kvarter. Enkelt værelse med eget badeværelse. Ingen rengøring undervejs. Morgenmad i nærtliggende restaurant. Alt hvad man kunne kræve til den lave pris.

Ingen rengøring i 4 dage. Først den sidste dag finder jeg ud af at man skal bede om det. Meget kedeligt værelse med udsigt til en baggård. Ingen badeforhæng, så det hele inkl entreen sejler efter bad.

adresse très correcte pour le prix et sa situation centrale. Dans une rue calme. il manquait juste des volets ou des rideaux occultants pour la lumière du jour le matin ! literie très bonne mais déco très sommaire. Le petit dej est à prendre dans un resto à 2 pas de l'hotel.

ein einfaches hotel, aber sauber und mit grossen zimmern. 24 h reception und check in, das personal ist sehr freundlich!

Prima kamer met uitstekend sanitair, 2 metrohaltes van het centrum. Lift was een beetje eng.

bien situé à 5 minutes du métro et 10 minutes du centre ville en métro, petit déjeuner copieux à volonté ouvert de 8 à 10 heures, hotel ouvert 24 heures sur 24, chambre propre au confort minimum, pas de bar ni tv dans la chambre

Für ein 1 1/2 Sterne Hotel waren wir, meine Freundin & Ich angenehm überrascht! Man darf natürlich in dieser Preiskategorie nicht zu viel verlangen, aber der Zustand unseres Zimmers, Bad, WC und Frühstück, so wie allgemeine Atmosphäre waren echt lobenswert und in allen Punkten ihr Geld wert! Auch der Kühlschrank im Zimmer war eine praktische Sache! Hinzu kam, dass wir unseren eigenen Schlüssel bekamen ohne irgendeinen Deposit zu bezahlen. Und für die faulen gibts sogar einen Aufzug, der allerdings nur 1 Person + Gepäck transportiert! Das Hotel liegt etwa 10 Minuten Fußmarsch vom Wenzelsplatz entfernt. Bis zum Hradschin oder der Karlsbrücke ist es noch ein GUTES Stück weiter! Aber Notfalls kann auch die U-Bahn-Station Namesti Miru angesteuert werden, welche nur ein paar hundert Meter um die Ecke liegt! Fazit: Für Leute mit kleinem Geldbeutel und der gewissen Ausdauer ist dass das perfekte Hotel um einen schönen Urlaub in Prag zu verbringen. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert!!
