Loved Pisa and this was a decently located base from which to explore it. Hotel is quite plain. Breakfast was basic and the air con didn't work properly but as we were hardly in the room it did not matter too much. The bedding, towels were spotless and the ensuite facilities were clean. Free safe in the room and sky TV (why you would want to watch TV though is beyond me). Internet facilities in lounge at 1euro / hour - cheap, but did not use! It is a two / three star hotel and you get what you pay for - fair and simple.

We arrived from airport and our room was ready and waiting. First time in history that there were 4 towels, glasses etc for our little family of 4 - well done! Staff very pleasant and spoke some English and we spoke some Italian so all went well. Breakfast good but the hostess had no English and was a little rude. However, when we thanked her on leaving in her own lingo she was a little happier! Very central - would definitely use this little place again :-)

Aparently this hotel used to be a convent (way back when), but you'd never know it to see it now. Hotel staff were friendly and informative (with excellent English) and the breakfast was expansive! The room was great, with comfy beds and traditional (yet modern) shuttered windows overlooking the church next door and the square out front. It's close to numerous restaurants, cafes and bars and only a 20 minute walk from the leaning tower/duomo (Campo dei Miracoli). Considering we literally plucked this hotel from the internet (with a little help from Trip Advisor), it was an excellent choice - a better hotel for the price would be very hard to find! Benissimo!

We were only actually at the hotel for one night and we left at 5am to catch our flight so we only have a limited experience. The hotel was within an easy walking reach of the train station and it was only 13 Euros to the airport by taxi. The hotel staff were helpful and booked our taxi etc. Our room was quite small but it had everyhting we needed and the shower was hot and powerful!

Good location- very near the river, 5 min walk to bars and restaurants, 15 min walk to the leaning tower. Room was very basic, only 1 thin pillow each, very small but clean. The service from the receptionists varied greatly- the young guy was very helpful but the older guy with grey hair was rude, he kept telling us every time we walked into the lobby that we had shut the hotel door incorrectly and made us shut it again- we felt that he was trying to wind us up.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Verdi during our 4 day trip to Pisa and found it a superb base for exploring the city. It has a real italian character about it. Staff are helpful, speak english and are polite. The hotel iteself is situated just off the river, pretty much half way between central station and the leaning tower. It is a 5 minute walk to the main shopping street. Breakfast is wonderful and is served from 7am-10pm, perfect if you want a lazy morning. Rooms are clean, well equipped and air conditioned. Would definatley stay there again!

The Hotel Verdi turned out to be a great choice for us. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the staff on reception. This hotel was perfect for our requirements, the distance bewteen both the main attractions in Pisa and our arrival airport was excellent. The overall cleanliness and comfort was very good. The shower however did fill up quicker than it could empty, which meant speed was of the essence when showering! Apart from this and the occasional language barrier this was a very good hotel and I would have no hesitation in re-visiting or recommending this hotel. The fact that there were numerous English channels on the television was also a bonus!

The rooms are comfortable enough, but the local scooter park is next to the hotel so is very noisy. I looked up WiFi finder and the Hotel has an entry only to find that there wasnt, despite "Hotel Verdi" appearing in my list of wireless networks. Breakfast was very poor, especially the awefull coffee. On a positive note €1 for a bottle of sparkling water in the mini bar must be rated as a bargain these days.

The hotel is located near all shops, the river etc... but the conditions were a bit to be desired. Not an extraordinary hotel, but I would stay there again and do certainly reccommend. Not far from the main attractions, it is clean and the staff is cordial. Breakfast is good - though the coffee machine could make use of some instructions (it took us forever to understand it.) The rooms are not huge and nor is the bathroom, but it is spacious enough. The room has tv, wardrobe, mini-bar, etc. The building itself is very interesting too. Oh, and it was cheap to get from the airport to the hotel by taxi which is good if you have a lot of luggage. Oh, there's a train station near the hotel too - good to go to the airport or other cities.

We stayed in the Hotel Verdi, Pisa for 2 nights in early February 2009. The room was excellent value, spacious with a comfortable bed. Only drawback was the the rather intermittent heat of the shower water. Breakfast was more than ample with pastries, rolls, yoghurt's, cereal etc, and a choice of coffee's etc. Even when it got busy, the waitress kept the replenishing the stocks. Location - it's a 10-15 min walk to the the tower, but otherwise in a good cenral location, close to the airport bus connections, and close to some very good restauraunts (and being a bit further from the tower, the food quality of these is far higher and more reasonable than the offerings in the main tourist area). I had seen some poor reviews of the hotel, but they seem to be totally unrealistic with their expectations of service. This is a 3 star hotel, and a good one on that basis. Wont hesitate to stay there again. Thank you hotel Verdi for a very pleasant stay.

If you stay at this hotel, make sure you take a good map as it took 3 local residents to help me find the square it was on! I found the hotel to be out-dated and a bit lazy - the light needed replacing in the corridor, the breakfast seemed rather stale and my room was a bit creepy! It wasn't a patch on the hotel I stayed in in Florence and was slightly more expensive. The reception was friendly enough, but everything seemed lacklustre. I wouldn't stay there again.

Stayed here for 1 night before an early flight out of Pisa airport. Hotel is simple enough to find (we arrived by train and walked to the hotel - took around 25 minutes with rucksacks) and first impressions were good. Reception staff were friendly and helpful (recommended a couple of bars, gave us a map, ordering taxis, etc...). Room itself was cool, dark and quiet - perfect as the sun was starting to get to us when we arrived - large double bed, well equipped and spacious en-suite with shower, decor modern and business like. Our room had no view, but we stayed out late and left early - so not a problem for us. Next morning we didn't get up early enough to have time for breakfast - starts at 7am - so can't comment on that. Hotel definitely recommended!

It is off the main street and so we had no problems with noise from either outside or from other rooms, despite the hotel being busy. The room was comfortable, always clean, a comfy bed, A/C, and the bathroom was very nice with a fantastic power shower. Also the mini bar was very reasonably priced, although our sky TV played up but then who goes to Pisa to watch TV?! The breakfast was self service served 0700-1000 daily with a good selection of ham, cheese, bread rolls, cereal and pastries. The staff spoke pretty good English and were very helpful.
