Hotel Americano - Lisbon

Hotel Americano is more of a hostel than a hotel. The people working there were very nice, but the quality of the rooms were not what we expected. The photos listed are mainly of Rossio Square, which is around the corner from the hotel.

This Hotel is in an Excellent location, just a couple minutes walk from Rossio Square. If you want 5* this place isnt for you. There is a bathroom on each level which you have to share with everyone else, which is a bit of pot luck if you get in, if you do you cant be in there too long or you'll have people knocking on the door. Great Supermarket next door, also Good restaurants nearby. Right in centre of Lisbon. Great price

Hotel room was small than I thought, for 3 persons it was cramped in. Not much ventilation on the 3rd floor. Lifts are smaller, not enough to carry with suitcase. Stayed for 2 nights. Good thing is that there is a supermarket next door. Breakfast was not that heavy. Just Crossaints and bread with coffee. Dont expect cold buffet.

The Hotel could not be more central, just of the main square and about 40 metres from the airport bus stop "Rossio". The staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was fairly basic consisting of cereal croissants fruit juice & coffee ect and the shared toilet facillities a little on the tatty side but over all very good value for money and I would reccommend highly

My student days are long gone but this hotel reminded me of my student days. The bed was larger than the room! Having to get dressed to go down the hall to the "euphemism" was no longer quaint, neither was not having a shower when I returned from Cascais. But the hotel was well located in the heart of Lisbon's downtown, convenient to the metro and trains, and staff were all friendly and helpful.

This hotel is really not a hotel by the Portugese definition; it does not have a restaurant so it is a residencia. It is ideally located, but is shabby, smelly, and lacks any charm at all. The breakfast is atrocious, consiting of crusty rolls, corn flakes, severely diluted Tang, instant coffee, and processed cheese stuff. We stayed in far superior hotels in other parts of Portugal and Spain for the same amount of money.

Hotellet ligger väldigt centralt, vilket är en klar fördel. Det var i princip bara att gå utanför entrédörren så stod man på torget mitt i Lissabon. Det finns gott om affärer och restauranger i omedelbar närhet. Själva hotellet var dock inte någon höjdare. De gemensamma toalett- och duschutrymmena kändes gamla och tämligen ofräscha. Själva rummet var väl okej (ett plus för AC:n) men kändes också gammalt och oupprustat. Inte heller var frukosten (som ingick i priset) särskilt imponerande - vi valde efter att ha testat den första morgonen att inta våra frukostar på stan. På det stora hela kan jag tycka att det pris vi betalade för att bo på hotellet var väl högt med tanke på hotellets standard.

this hotel is not to be recommended. The showers were horrible, hair everywere and it smelled urine in the showers as well as in the toiletts. The rooms were very tiny and the breakfest was coffe from a vending machine and a piece of bread. Only thing good was the location. spend another 10 euros and you can get a much better place close by.

Perfekt beliggenhed i centrum af Lissabon - lige ved Baixa, Barrio Alto, Alfama. Tæt på alt. Meget servicemindede og flinke medarbejdere - især natportieren. En rigtig god oplevelse.

Stanza minuscola, letto piccolo, sensazione di vecchio, poca sicurezza all'entrata dell'albergo. Di certo non è l'alberghetto caratteristico che ti resterà nel cuore. MA la posizione è invidiabile, non proprio sulla piazza Rossio ma quasi, in una vietta parallela. Il bus aereoporto-centro ferma praticamente davanti all'entrata dell'hotel. Inoltre, poco costoso. Per una permanenza di pochi giorni (3) come la nostra si è rivelato un alloggio efficace.

Hotellet ligger mycket bra till mitt i centrala Lissabon. Standarden är vad man betalar för d.v.s. enkel, men rent och bra sängar.

Det enda som var bra var att hotellet ligger väldigt centralt. I övrigt var det mycket som inte var bra. Rummen var OK men ljudisoleringen obefintlig. Var tvungen att byta rum. Frukosten som ingick är inte ens värd att kallas frukost.

Skönt att bo relativt lugnt mitt i city. Nära till det mesta. Även om man känner till vilken sorts frukost det brukar vara på kontinenten, så var den här frukosten väl torftig. Bara marmelad och någon sorts mjukost till brödet.¨

sehr zentral gelegen, Preis-Leistung unschlagbar, Frühstück einfach aber genießbar und ausreichend, Etagenbad immer sauber

Le séjour se serait bien passé si mon mari ne s'était fait voler dans le hall de cet hôtel papiers d'identité, permis de conduire et carte visa!
