Wellington Hotel - Londres

Apart from the hotel location, everything about the hotel was not good. The reeception was rude and not helpful when i checked in at 1.30am. He even raised his voice. Room has no toliet which was inconvenient.

Arrived at the hotel, pest control outside, probably a permanent fixture when you see the inside, very scruffy inside, hasn't been altered since the 50's, no lift , the room was outdated with a wartime wardrobe and uncomfortable beds, the shower was 50m away and had no hot water, good location near Victoria and cheap rates are only plus points

Wery ice hotel, good location, 7 min. walk from Victoria statio and 10 min. from Westminster's bridge. Clean, big rooms, TV, Sink, everything you need. Good price

It was not what I expected. I booked this Hotel because I did not want to take my parents to a Hostel. When We arrived there none was at the reception, then an indian guy took our details and gave us our room key. The room was smelly, toilets were outside the room and quite far. I thought that I booked a private room with private bathroom but it wasn't. I don't recommend this Hotel at all.

Having read the review, we almost swapped the hotel, however I am glad we didnt. For the price, the hotel isnt bad at all. My main concern was the lack of en-suite, but the facilities in the bathroom were adequate and forgivable considering that the building used to be a halls of residence. A minor mistake was soon rectified since we got a double instead of twin room, and whilst staff werent overly helpful they werent terrible. Breakfast was cereal, toast or fruit served on a buffet, which was good apart from the overly large tables making it difficult to sit next to who you want. Whilst far from perfect, the hotel suited our needs well.

No elevator, our room on the third floor. shared bathrooms. No air conditioning and poor ventilation. Economical and close proximity but we will probably splurge for a nicer room next time.

Hotel has an impressive entrance but there it stops. Would suggest a review of this hotel in all aspects of decor and refubishment. Some B&B's are in better condition.

The Wellington really is a very basic hotel. We had a tripple room which was three, old, single beds crammed into quite a small room with a desk and a sink in the corner. But it was fine. There is a shower room down the corridor with several very good showers that are kept pretty clean. The ground floor has a comfortable lounge and beneath this is a dinning room where breakfast is served. Breakfast is excellent, really setting you up for the day with loads of toast, croissants, cheese and ham, cereals and tea, coffe and juice. It's just a basic hotel in a lovely location (overlooks Westminster Boys School playing fields and cricket pitch). You're five minutes from Victoria and Buckingham Palace and ten minutes from Hyde Park and the houses of Parliament. As long as you aren't expecting luxury it does the job and allows you to get on with seeing London.

I can strongly not recommend this hotel for others, the room and actually the whole hotel is in such a bad condition. A true rip off!!

Considering it was incredibly cheap - the hotel/hostel was quite a bargain. I have stayed in hostels before and this one was better quality for the money. We went on a pub crawl and wanted somewhere to crash... this was perfect. The beds were made and were comfortable to sleep on. the bathrooms were not too far from our rooms. Breakfast was basic but was enough to start the day with. It is a very cheap hotel just 15 mins from Buck House but was good value for the money. Will definitely stay again if spending the night in London.

The hotel is about 15minutes walk away from victoria coach and bus station. Quiet and safe and conveniet. Walk to Kate museum for 15 minutes and, Bukingham palace, Hide Park, or Westminster church center area about 25-35 minutes if you know the shortcut road. Staff were overall helpful. Breakfast were simple but warm and healthy. You do need to pay for the internet access, 1.5 pound for 15minutes. Bathrooms are shared but clean and hot water. Clean towers are provided to each room. Overall, we are happy for the price. If you need something with more comfort and fancier, then pay a bit more.If you drive, they do have a few spots. That's a plus. But we didn't drive so we don't know if it is free. You can call and ask.

this hotel is not the most modern in the world, but it was exactley what i thought it would be, a cheap clean hotel to rest my head 4 the night. the staff were really nice and the location was good. just a 5 minute walk from victoria tube station. if its just a room for the night that you want then this place is fine.

I booked this hotel from America for my daughter and grandchildren. They needed a place to stay for one night before they went to Paris. They were appalled at the conditions. There was no elevator to their 3rd floor room. The men's bathroom on the 3rd floor was out of service so my grandsons had to go downstairs every time they used the bathroom. There was a horrible smell on all floors and the room was grimy and uncared for. Their only relief was the fact that they arrived late at night and left early in the morning.One of the reviews had suggested that the hotel was more of a hostel than a hotel, but my experience of hostels has been that they are clean and well-cared for. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This was not a hotel it was a hostel. The hotel was dirty, smelled of urine and "pot" . It would not be suitable for any one physically challenged. The manager was not customer sevice oriented and idicated when we expressed our disatisfaction with the conditions ie: drug use, urine smell, trash in hallways and stair wells , that We should have known due to the price!!!!! I am not sure how we would have known that based on the web site. A one star rating should include cleanliness as well as "smoke" free.

if you are not fussy and looking for something cheap, this is the place for you. Great location extremely close to both victoria station and buckingham place.

The hotel was well worth the money (cheap) but an elevator would have been appreciated. You can tell that it is an old hospital, but the bed was allright, breakfast too. Don't park your car outside without fee - it cost me a hundred pounds for ten minutes!

This place was hardly fit to be called a hotel, as it was in effect a student residence, and as a current student, I can confirm not a very good one at that. The furniture was very old fashioned, and the beds and bedding were most uncomfortable. The ancient sink in the corner of the room offered no more than a luke warm drible, and the communal bathroom was drafty, had wet floors and smelled terribly. The only positive appeared to be the acceptable cleanliness of the room, but after moving the beds to make more space, I found that the carpet underneath was filthy. This is without doubt the worst hotel I have stayed in. They call this the Welleington, and you'd be better off staying in an old boot.

Very basic, but clean with helpful staff. Conveniently located for Victoria train/tube. If all you need is a bed for the night with no frills or extras then give it a go.

For the price it was pretty much what I expected... front reception staff could have been friendlier, a smile goes a long way, it would have made up for the fact that it hasn't been re-decorated since the 80's.

Breakfast only served after 8.00am and I had to be on my way before that time, so can not comment on breakfast. Heavy room doors led to banging at night as guest entered or left rooms. Carpeting on floors very thin - no underlay - so there was noise as guests moved down the corridors late at night. However, bed linen clean. Wash basin in room adequate for washing hands and face. As others have commented toilets and shower facililities are down corridors. All in all, however, adequate for short stays.

If you get a cheap room in Kensington, there is a reason for it. This was more like a hostel that a hotel. Showers and toilets down the corridor, TV wasnt tuned in. The room smelt very 'old'. Lovely location though. Dont bother with the breakfast, its cheap ham, metallic tasting old tea and 'glazed' criossants, I imagine to preserve them so they can keep putting them out day after day. You are better of with a McDonalds brekkie at Victoria.

Good HOSTEL, poor Hotel. But a great location, close to the london eye, london tower, maybe 7 blocks.

This is a one star just one step up from a hostel. But that being said, if you can live with sharing baths and single beds you will be hard pressed to find a less expensive hotel so well located. It is across from a lovely cricket grounds (which is private and fenced but you can watch from the sidewalk) and faces this square. You can walk to Buckingham and to Victoria station. If you had kids with you it is a read bargain due to the free continental breakfast (not hot food but cereal, toast, breads and ham and cheese and juice and coffee...certainly plenty to start the day.

Most of the window views in the hotel overlooked the park across the street. The room itself was pleasently aranged with everything that was needed for a tourest on a budget. Other than the aquardnes of community showers and tolets i would recommend this hotel to any guy or understanding girl. For the price it was a pleasent surprise.

The hotel was fairly clean. The room was basic, but clean and tidy. The toilets were clean but the showers needed updating a bit. Unfortunately someone had decided to have a cigarette in one I used and hadn't taken the butt with them. Breakfast was fairly basic. Perhaps fresh fruit instead of tinned fruit would have been better. Overall I enjoyed my stay there and would probably stay again.

Overall, the hotel had a super location by Victoria station. Only thing was, when I read "semi-private bath", to me-- this means a shared bath with an adjacent room, for example. It in no way, shape, or form, means there is a tiny sink in the room, which only has cold water--the actual condition of the "bath". But I would stay there again. Great deal.

Hotel was basic. Rooms loked old and tired and in need of redecorating. It reminded me of an old college or student accommodation. Toilets and showers needed a good clean. Breakfast was fine, nothing special but a good and basic slection. Staff friendly. No disable facilities I could find. Probaly will not return here

Look at the price and adjust your expectations accordingly. This magnificent building was actually my Halls of Residence at University and appears to be in exactly the same state now as it was then. Very basic room conditions, communal toilets and showers best avoided as is the breakfast. Great convenient central location though for a night or two.

The outside building facade is lovely, and the location is great. The front office staff in the morning was most helpful (i.e. storing luggage, providing directions for sightseeing). However, the bathrooms and room were smelly and unwelcoming. The beds/pillows were uncomfortable and the trek to the bathroom was too far.

Ideal for the budget-concious. I decided not to check out the breakfast. Former hall of residence for Kings College London if the fire notices are to be believed.

The Wellington Hotel is a pretty brick building on the outside, located alongside a charming green about 8 blocks from the Victoria metro station. On the inside, it's basically a dorm. There are shared toilets and separate shared showers (unisex, but you can lock the outside door), and the rooms are very basic, with twin beds, a sink, a tall window, and a desk with a TV. The place is lit with dull flourescent lighting, the carpet is torn, the furnishings are old, etc. (it's in need of repairs). Reminded me of my college dorm. (And the place was basically full of traveling student groups.) Breakfast is only served for an hour, and included croissants, toast, cereal, beverages, and fruit cups, along with plates of chilled meat and cheese slices. The breakfast room was therefore packed. On the upside, the front desk was helpful and friendly. Don't expect a nice place -- but it was fine for our needs (26-year-olds on a budget vacation).

The room is small, grey with old and essential furniture but the beds were confortable and clean. No room has private nathroom. Bathroom are in the hallway with the showers. They are clean. The hotel has just one pubblic internet point, no internet in the rooms. The pubblic room, where the computer is, is normally filled of smoke from smoking guest. Finally breackfast is served only for 1h (8-9) and is basic but not bad at all. The location is great: walking distance from a lot of the interesting things of London and the area look quite safe. Finally, considerig the location, the hotel is a good deal for its price if you are willing to accept its conditions.

Don't expect anything fancy. The place is dated, but it is clean and in a really nice area of the city. Also, breakfast is usually included, which can be a major plus.

Wellington Hotel ligger meget centralt, men samtidig i et stille kvarter. Det tager ca. 10-15 min at gå til Westminster abbey og Big Ben. Personalet var flinke og imødekommende. Hotellet er af ældre dato, men toilet og bad var nyt (i hvert fald på 3.sal) og altid rent! Morgenmaden var ganske udmærket, men ikke prangende. Alt i alt great value for money, og hvis man bare har brug for et sted at sove, mens man udforsker London i dagtimerne, er dette er rigtig godt hotel, og kan sagtens anbefales.

Dette er gamle Kings College som er "utslitt" som skole, og gjort om til det de kaller hotell. Det er et slitt engelsk bygg, som knirker i gulvplankene, og kan ha "stor avstand" fra rommet til toalettene og dusjene, men toalett og dusjer er relativt nye. Frokosten er enkel, men ok. Serveres kun en time. Det som trekker ned servicen, er at når jeg ba resepsjonisten om å bestille en taxi til oss, som skulle ta oss til Victoria Coach station, for at vi skulle ta bussen, bestilte de en "privatsjafør", som kjørte en omvei, tok overbetalt og slapp oss av et sted hvor vi ikke ville komme med bussen. Vi skjønte etter litt at bussen til flyplassen ikke ville passere der han sa, så vi gikk til stasjonen, og kom med bussen. Ganske sikker på at sjaføren var "fetteren til han i resepsjonen", som planla å ta grovt betalt for å kjøre oss hele veien til flyplassen. Hotellet i seg selv, ligger ganske sentralt, og koster ikke alt for mye. Må derfor si meg fornøyd med hotellet, i forhold til pris og lokasjon. Vi reiste ikke til London for å være på hotellet. (Bare innom og sov noen få timer i døgnet). Ikke noe bra sted om man har med seg barn og skal være litt på hotellet. Små rom, og ingen fasiliteter. Prøver vel et annet hotell neste gang.. kanskje..

Jeg hadde med to barn til hotellet. Romsligheten var bra nok. På grunn av at vi oppholdt oss en liten del av tiden på rommet syns jeg at til den prisen var det helt akseptabelt. Renhet på rommene var ok og frokosten var også bra nok.

The hotel was centrally located in Belgravia next to a pleasant cricket pitch and the facade was a nice example of Edwardian architecture, but the facilities were very basic. There were shared lavatories and showers, the rooms were very basic and you risk ending up in a room facing a busy road. Breakfast was quite awful in the continental style with dry croissants.

Je conseille cet hotel pour le rapport qualité prix et surtout tres bien situé dans Londres il n'est pas parfait mais a toutes les qualités necessaires pour y sejourner.

Ancien collège réaménagé, cet hôtel est original et situé dans un quartier très calme avec un parc, près de la gare Victoria. Le confort est spartiate, mais les chambres sont propres et équipées d'un lavabo, d'un bureau, d'une armoire et d'une TV. Le plus gros défaut de cet hôtel est que les salles de bain et toilettes sont communs à chaque étage, mais il n'y a pas d'attente pour prendre la douche (surtout si vous la prenez le soir). Attention, le petit-déjeuner n'est servi qu'entre 8 et 9h; c'est un buffet continental avec croissants, pains de mie, pain, céréales, confitures, beurre, fromage, jambon, café, thé, lait et jus de fruits. Ce ne sont pas des produits de luxe, mais c'est correct. Tout est rustique, mais propre. De façon général, cet hôtel à petit budget est parfait pour les visiteurs de passage qui souhaitent être au centre de Londres. Les personnes aimant marcher peuvent tout faire à pied depuis l'hôtel.

Skulle inte rekommendera någon detta hotell.., Ena sängen rullade i väg när man rörde sig i den och gick inte att låsa. Fanns inget varmvatten de två första dagarna i duscharna. Frukosten var bara öppet en timme och det var ibland lång kö för att få ta. Dessutom så var inte själva frukosten en höjdare heller även om det bara var en kontinental så räknar man faktiskt med att inte få en torr ostskiva inplastad på tallrik. Nej, inte hit någon mer gång!

I thought it would be terrible staying at a hotel this cheap. But no. Loved it! If all you need is a comfortable bed and a roof over your head, this is the place! Unfortunately we overslept every morning so can't comment the breakfast. It was very close to Victoria Station and ofcourse very easy to go by bus or the sub in to the City. I had the best time, we'll be back this spring!
