Grand Hotel Tritone - Praiano

The hotel views are as dazzling as the brochure. Retaurant was well staffed and food very good, although somewhat pricey. As the hotel is actually located between Positano and Praiano, alternate dining arrangements require a car or taxi as I would be terrified to walk on the narrow, winding road. Air conditioning was not up to the hot weather we experienced in late August. Private rocky beach was reached by swimming from the boat dock or by clambering over boulders. This is NOT a hotel for those with difficulty walking, as most rooms were reached by elevator AND stairs.

This was one of the coolest hotels I've ever stayed in. I loved all the little hallways and staircases. The staircase down to the beach was steep but spectacular. We tried to take the stairs up & down every time, only used the elevator once when we were in a hurry. Like other reviews, the staff weren't very helpful. When we asked the man at the front desk about the bus to Positano he said just to go up and get on a bus, he didn't tell us which bus or give us the bus schedule which they kept behind the desk for some reason. Little did we know that there was one particular bus to take and it only came once an hour. So we waited a very long time by the road. I got the impression that if you didn't speak Italian they weren't as helpful to you. Other than the staff it was an excellent hotel. Upgrading to a room with a balcony is worth it!

We loved this hotel! We stayed 3 nights planning to visit Pompeii (1 day), Capri (1 day) and do some sightseeing along the Amalfi coast including Sorrento and Amalfi. The hotel is truly suspended in the rock and the view from our hotel room patio was breathtaking. The hotel has free parking and a small beach area with a pool. The cleanliness of the room and of the property in general is outstanding. The only thing to take into account is that the hotel location is not easy to reach by car unless you are not a skilled driver. But this is part of the beauty and challenge of visiting the Amalfi coast!

Hotel Tritone exceeded our expectations. Perched high up on the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, the views from our balcony were incredible. Two lovely salt water pools and an excellent snorkelling beach. Excellent European breakfast served on the terrace overlooking Positano each morning. Romantic candlelit dinners on the terrace overlooking Praiano. Wait staff was superior. Great location halfway between Positano and Amalfi. Free WiFi Internet, free breakfast, free parking made this four star hotel a five star value.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Tritone, infact we even postponed our trip to room to enjoy the facilities for an extra day. There were endless nooks and crannies from which to relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery. The hotel was quiet, private and a short distance from both Positano and Praiano towns, and is a perfect choice for honeymooners and people wishing to relax. The only negatives were that the furniture in the bedrooms could use some updating, and that breakfast wasn't very exciting, but the breathtaking views, verandas and private beach by far made up for these negatives. We can't wait to return to the Hotel Grand Tritone and the Amalfi coast!

En oas i ett otroligt vackert område. Har allt man behöver vid en vistelse här. Gångavstånd in till byn Praiano med härliga skaldjursrätter på restaurangen bredvid kyrkan.

Our stay at Tritone matched all our expectations! The food, the view, the facilities and especially the service. Tritone's staff are very attentive, and care for your every need. As young backpackers, we were treated the same way as the other guests. A normal dinner will cost around € 50-60 including a nice but inexpensive bottle of wine (€ 20). The beach and pool area are free. They have a nice snack bar and supply free towels. The views are stunning, and one could easily spend a day just sun bathing and enjoying the view. All in all, this was a wonderful vacation spot and we can gladly recommend it to other travellers!

Grand Hotel Tritone är ett hotell man främst besöker p.g.a. det vidunderliga läget, högt uppe på en klippavsats med utsikt över Medelhavet. Vårt superior-rum hade terass ut mot havet och utsikten levde klart upp till alla våra förväntningar. Hotellet har en havspool med bar nere vid havet och gott om solstolar. Dit ner åker man med hissar. Restaurangen på hotellet var ok, men det finns bättre i Praiano (några km bort). Personalen skötte sig bra, men de var väldigt många så vi kände oss lite övervakade ibland.
