Hotel Domus Aventina - Roma

We loved this hotel from the moment we set foot in it. Very comfortable and quiet rooms over three floors, some rooms with balconies where you can enjoy a private breakfast or take it in the bright downstairs dining room. Hotel has no lifts but it was all easy access via the wide stairs. Room windows are double glazed and ours looked onto the small private hotel piazza and the old church with its terracotta roof. Breakfast was continental style and Ronaldo who looks after the dining room is very helpful. The hotel is located next to the historic Santa Prisca church, and is easy walking distance to Circus Maximus, the old Terme di Caracalla Roman baths, Coloseum and the very ancient Palatino area of Rome. There are several good restaurants nearby in the Viale Aventino road.

Excellent staff, especially breakfast waitress very hardworking and efficient. Reception staff friendly, however we would have appreciated some more information about the hotel when checking in. Instead, the receptionist appeared distracted and did not provide much information spontaneously.

The Hotel Domus Aventina is situated very close to Circo Massimo and in a quiet suburban street very near to the attractions. (15 minute walk to Colesseum) It also has the added advantage of being located close to a metro stop (Circo Massimo) and I highly recommend you use the Metro to get around (€4 Day Ticket) although you cannot hear the trains. So top marks for location and at a really reasonable cost. As people say, you get what you pay for. The room was tidy and made every day, en suite and air conditioned (bit noisy) but nonetheless very comfortable for my requirements. Breakfast was basic but adequate. Hotel staff were extremely helpful too.

I enjoyed my stay at Domus Aventino. The room is big, nicely decorated with TV, a mini fridge and a safe. The bathroom is very good with good shower, hairdryer, clean towels, shampoo, soap. Breakfast very good. Location excellent and not far from underground and Ostiense train station.

I was able to stay in both a double and a single room during my stay at the hotel. The double room was a standard "American-sized" hotel room. It included a balcony that overlooked the patio area below. The single room was about the third of the size of a typical "American-sized" hotel room. It was small but comfortable. It did not have a "view" and did not face the patio area. I didn't mind this because I wasn't there to spend alot of time in the room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the free wifi internet service and the free morning continental breakfasts. The hotel is situated in a quiet neighborhood and is between two metro stations. I used the metro exclusively to get around town and found it just a short walk from the Circo Massimus metro station. I did have some incidents with ants and had to hang my food products or make sure that everything was safe in the room refridgerator. The only other item I would mention is about the room heaters. Heating is not an extra cost but it was very sporadic. I'm not sure why but the heater would sometimes be on and sometimes not. I just made sure to double up the blankets on the bed to make sure I was cozy all night. I would definitely stay here again. If you don't mind riding the metro to get to any of the main sights of Rome, then this is a great little hotel to get away from the bustle of the main streets of the city.

I was in Rome for 6 nights and was able to walk to all the main attractions from here. The Colosseum was about 10 - 15 mins away, and the Vatican about 20 - 25 mins. As a single traveller, I only had a small room, but it had a TV (only one English speaking channel - CNN), a hairdryer, a mini bar (no price list) and en suite toilet and shower (with Bidet). Unfortunately - no kettle, so take your own. The breakfast was absolutely fine, the only drawback being that on entering, you are offered cappucino or coffee by the waitress, as opposed to being able to help yourself and I wasn't offered a top-up. The only problem I had with the Hotel, is that there is no lift and I struggled a bit with my suitcase, up 4 flights of stairs, on arrival.

Firstly, let me say that tjis hotel is well positioned. Stayed there for 4 days and 3 of those, we walked into the city from the hotel. There is a Metro (Circo Massimo) withing easy walking distance and several busses pass within a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel was very clean and the room was comfortable - everything in it worked. The breakfast was more than sufficient and good coffee was served. Staff were helpful - as a 3-star hotel, I cannot fault it at all! I do not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. It is located in a quiet, peaceful area. If you are OK staying in a 3-star, this hotel will be more than perfect for you!

Although a little out of town the walk to the Coliseum was only ten to fifteen minutes and you walk past the Circus Maximus. About seven minutes walk from the subway. A great value hotel in a very quiet and pleasant street.

The rooms were good, and the breakfast great. All staff were friendly and helpful. There were all the facilities as given in the description. Our only disappointment was that we were unable to access the courtyard or roof terrace, and it would have been nice to sit outside on the lovely warm evenings. Another think would have been to have a kettle in the room, as my mother is a tea freak and would have loved to have relaxed with a cup of tea rather than water all the time.

I liked the location. It is in an attractive, quiet neighborhood, but relatively accessible to bus lines and the subway. But the toilet was not functioning when I arrived mid-afternoon. The receptionist "fixed" it, and the next a.m. it did not work again. I also needed to contact hotels.com to cancel a reservation when I was in Italy, but could not get through to the 800 number in the U.S.

Good hotel. But one of the hotel clerk could remember our faces (or names) of the hotels guests - he asked us twice during 15 Minutes for the number of our hotel rooms when we come through the reception desk. It was i little bit funny :-)) But in general no problem there and we were very satisfied. The hotel is near the colloseum and near very beatiful garden with church and with the tangerine treas and the georgious view on the city. Breakfast was good too.

Wir waren im Februar für eine Woche Gast in diesem Hotel. Begeistern konnte uns vor allem die Lage. Man konnte bequem zu Fuss den Circo Massimo erreichen (ca. 5 min) und dort mit der Metro überall hin fahren. Nur ca. 15 min waren es zum Colloseum. Das Hotel ist sehr schon in einer Seitenstraße gelegen und sehr ruhig. Der Blick aus den Zimmern in den Palmengarten ist schön. WLAN ist kostenlos in den Zimmern! Das Personal ist größtenteils englisch-sprachig und sehr freundlich. Vor allem der fröhlich pfeifende und singende Frühstückskellner ist ein Erlebnis. Das Frühstück leider nicht... da kann man in den Römer Cafés besser frühstücken. Das ist auch schon der fast einzige Kritikpunkt. Die Zimmer sind etwas hellhörig. Aber insgesamt haben wir uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen sicher wieder.

Hotellet er flot og rent. Det er dejligt med gratis trådløs internet. Vi havde værelse med dejlig stor terasse, dog uden lys så det var lidt mørkt om aftenen. Øv der mangler en restaurant eller blot et sted hvor man kunne købe en kop kaffe.

The hotel was located at a nice quiet neigbourhood. It was 10min walking to the metrostation, and 3 min walking to the bus and tramstation. It is 15/20min walking to the Colluseum from the Hotel. Im really positive about the hotel. Everything was good. I would def. book this hotel again when i will go back to Rome. +Really nice people working there. They could talk english. And always said hi/bye. And talked to us about Rome etc. + Room: It was clean, nice decorated, alot space, clean bathroom (shower was a bit small, but was ok). AC, tv, locker available. Bed was comfy. + Breakfast: it was from 7 till 10.30. They guy who worked there was friendly and made fresh coffee for us. So no machinecoffee. So guys if ur looking for a nice hotel and not too expensive this is the one!

Very nice hotel. Well located, near transports & in a very quite part of the city. Nice reception. Varied breakfast from 7 to 10:30. You can find good restaurants walking 10 minutes in the direction of Trastevere.Very good choice. Our trip in Roma was sweet.

tout était correct, très proche du centre sur une petite colline (5min. de marche) l'hôtel est très bien situé. Il est tranquille et les chambres sont propres et grandes! Le petit déjeuner est typique du coin et le personnel est très gentil. Bref un bon pied à terre pour visiter cette magnifique ville

Il s'agissait d'un cadeau pour mes parents. Ils ont adoré l'environnement de l'hôtel, la qualité du service. Les petits déjeuner étaient copieuxet le confort agréable pour un séjour de 4 jours. Ils ont particulièrement apprécié la proximité des lieux de visites et l'accessibilité en métro. Seulement quelque difficulté à prendre le bus. le quartier de l'hôtel est également trés agréable.
