Hilton Chambers - Hostel - Manchester

Review.

We stayed here for two nights and found the room clean and warm and comfortable. The staff were just as nice and helpful with our enquiries about Manchester. The only negative was that, perhaps because of the very central location, it got quite noisy at night when the nearby clubs closed. A set of ear-plugs might be helpful for any light-sleepers maybe. That said, it was only a minor nuisance and we would use this hotel/hostel again - certainly good value for the price.

I stayed in this hotel after not being able to find my hostel. It is an incredibly expensive hotel, with special wings with large rooms and lots of interesting amenities. However, I was able to book a regular room for a really reasonable price. I was going to stay regardless, but the price was much better considering the loveliness of the room than my weary & tired self assumed! Although I had a standard room, it was still very luxurious, with black wood furniture and a very comfortable, cushiony bed. There was great coffee service and the room service was superb. The bathroom was also spacious and clean. It is right next to a main bus area, and is within walking distance of the main shopping area and museums. The staff is courteous, helpful, and direct as well.

Hotel or hostel or why not both? I wasn't too sure what to expect from this place, it was cheaper than the places I normally stay in Manchester. Things didn't looking good when the sign outside read "Budget Accommodation", and signs inside pointed towards communal wash facilities etc. Fortunately I booked a double room and once I had checked in and made my way to the third floor things improved. As lino made way for carpet I knew things were going to be OK. The room was spacious and the en-suite larger than expected. There were few extras in the room: towels, soap and a TV. Though there were tea and coffee hidden somewhere on the third floor but I didn't bother taking the time to find it. The staff were very pleasant and a 24 hour staffed front desk is always useful and the guy didn't mind at all when I stumbled in at 4am. Internet facilities are available but computers are slow and at £1 for 30 minutes - not that cheap. Baggage storage for people checking out was another useful feature for what was an all-round decent place to stay.

I booked this hotel because it was the cheapest I could find and I wasn't expecting too much but the staff were friendly and checking in and out was made really easy. Our room was also clean and comfy and the best surprise was finding out we could use a kitchenette not far from our room which included tea, coffee and bread although the teacloth was a bit dirty!!

We stay for 1 night in Hilton Chamber after a football match (M.U. Fans). Because of match day, many hotels doubled their price and even triple. We find a cheaper place to stay rather than paying too much. Our private double room is clean, tidy, larger than London's hotel (with big toilet). Only a little bit noisy when some people drunk and speak loudy outside.

This is not a hotel, more a kind of B&B, but not very nice. The room we were given was not the one we asked for. The room was not clean, beds not confortable although it was apparently an en-suite! The reception was not helpful at all, kept on playing harcore music-did not seem to care much. I was expecting something quite nice with the comments I read on the site but was very disappointed- I would not recommend it.

very friendly staff & clean & quiet place to stay, ensuite toilet & shower,got all the basic comforts you need

our double ensuite room had a comfy king size bed and a "real" shower (not just a hole in the floor. the staff was very helpful and there were computers to use for the internet - 30 minutes for 1 pound. the room was a good deal for the price.

In the summer some rooms are a little too warm

ottima posizione, staff gentile e disponibile, colazione inclusa (toast, tè, caffè, succo d'arancia, latte), cucina ben fornita di utensili e possibilità di self catering. bagno molto piccolo, poco pulito. albergo ottimo per soggiorni molto brevi.

Super Hostel! Nice staff, lovely Kitchen, cosy and clean rooms! Great location for night-outs and shopping!

L'hotel était à 10minutes de marche de la gare Picadilly, pratique ! La chambre était propre et functionnelle, avec une déco simple mais sympa. Il y avait une cuisine à disposition, super pour se faire un thé ou prendre le petit déj L'accueil, superbe!
