Hotel GLO - Helsinki

We loved everything about this hotel. The location couldn't be better...near the market place, shopping, and could walk or take the T to all sightseeing destinations. The room was spotless,chic and vary comfortable... plus the staff was very helpful and pleasanat. Probably the only negative for my husband was the open bathroom...I thought it was perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Was at the hotel on a leisure trip in aug. 2009. Room was a standard one, very pleasant and clean; bathroom was really nicely furnished. Breakfast buffet was pantagruelic, reception staff was kind and efficient. I also enjoyed the spa, at the 8th floor, but it comes at a price (10 €/pax). Cons: room was a bit small; only one internet free access for the entire hotel - it was often busy. Overall, an excellent stay with an outstanding P/Q ratio,

We had a great stay at The Glo. The hotel is very modern and stylish. The rooms were very comfortable. It is in the heart of helsinki , conveniently located to stroll the market, the shops and tourist sites as well as access to the tram. Yet the room were very well insulated as we were not bothered at all by the noise of the street.

Marvelous contemporary rooms, large and great bed. Tea/coffee and frig. Good location near hop on/hop off tram and the water. Front of hotel street is often pedestrian thoroughfare. Good breakfast and staff. Highly recommended.

No complaints. The room, location, breakfast buffet were all exceptional. Helsinki is lovely.

We booked this hotel because of the ratings it had on this website and others and it did not dissapoint. We had an extra large room, which was really big, and open plan, with desk and seating area and 2 flat screen TV's. The room was decorated modernely and neutrally. It was really comfortable. Service was good, if we needed anything it would be brought to our room. The Spa area was nice, with two steam rooms and a sauna and a relaxing area, but did get a bit busy at times. Location is perfect - in the centre by many tourist attractions. The only criticisms I would have is that the restaurant is a Pizza restaurant (used to be Spanish) and it only really sells Pizza's and salads and doesnt provide that many options if you want to eat there on several nights. I'd really recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to have a realxing, comfortable and luxurious stay in Helsinki.

I was incredibly impressed with Hotel Glo and without question would stay here again on future trips to Helsinki. The hotel is perfectly situated in the center of town within walking distance to everything. Additionally, there is a trolley stop directly outside the hotel for those taking local transportation. The front desk staff are friendly and very helpful and helped make my stay very enjoyable. Best part is the complimentary breakfast, and the fact that they have free laptops guests can borrow and take up to their room for free internet access. A wonderful hotel for a reasonable price - very highly recommended for business or pleasure stays.

Super hotel located one block from the main Esplanade. Hotel staff very helpful. Good sized rooms and quiet. Buffet breakfast a good mix of cereals, cold cut meats, cheeses, breads, and hot food such as boiled and scrambled eggs and sausages. Ideal place for visiting touristy attractions as they are within easy walking distance / tram ride (which stops just round the corner from hotel). Recommended.

GLO Hotel is situated in the centre of Helsinki. themed in Black and White (even the toilet paper is black), the hotel is clean fresh and modern. Complimentary WiFi is available in rooms. Breakfast is an extensive buffet with both hot and cold options. Only concern was that on Sunday, breakfast was not available before 8am which would have been useful. The main bar has a selection of domestic and international brands. The main hotel restaurant is an Italian pizzeria. All staff appeared fluent in English.

I´ve been staying there second time and the rooms are very well furnished and have a warm homecoming design. I love this place with very thoughtful lighting in the room and the comfortable softness of the beds. Although the breakfast buffet could be more diverse. And never go 1 hour before end of breakfast time. Cups plates food, everything seems missing. They do their best to fill up, and they do, but the amount of stuff isn´t cappable to serve the many guests.

A coworker and I traveled to Helsinki on business. We were both extremely pleased with the hotel. It is well appointed, modern, secure, and very comfortable. The staff is outstanding and everyone made an extra effort to ensure our satisfaction. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip. We were carrying quite a lot of baggage and opted to take a taxi to/from the train station (less than 10 Euros each way) but it would have been easily walkable without huge bags. The hotel is also a short walk from the harbor and shopping districts and there's a tram stop at the end of the street. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay.

Perfect location on the main street of Helsinki; modern, comfortable and clean rooms; and a killer breakfast included in your room. We checked out the hotels free bikes and peddled around Helsinski for a few hours. The only negative was the pricey charge for use of the hotel sauna, drinks in the hotel....the mark up on beer in the mini-bar (€9 for a pint versus €3 in the covenience store across the street).

In short the location is great, staff are incredibly helpful, rooms are great (maybe a little small) and all at a fantastic price for what you get. Definitely the place I'll be staying when in Helsinki!

A great hotel - attractive modern design, comfortable rooms, friendly/attentive service and a cool bar. Perhaps not the quietest location, but very convenient for shops, restaurants, etc. At the time that we were there, the hotel restaurant was being renovated (though breakfast was available and good). Should be even better once this is finished.

The GLO hotel has only been open about a year. It is a modern, design-led hotel with Dali-esque design features and a certain Spanish flavour in it's restaurant and design theme.However, despite this cool/hip feel to the hotel, everythign was conveniently designed, the staff are efficient and friendly and the bed was really comfortable. It is very centrally located and has a very good breakfast buffet. There is a computer in the lobby with free internet access. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to stay at GLO again.

Hotel is in a fantastic location within walking distance of everything.

Stylish, clean and fun

Stayed 3 nights at Glo over our own wedding in Finland (we are Finns living overseas). Enjoyed the modern style and open architecture at Glo. Spa on top floor was small but quiet and relaxing extra service. We went there every day! Bed was better than home. Fully recommendable and look forward for our anniversary to go back to Glo. Only small minus was breakfast. In Finnish standard the selection of items was small, though satisfactory.

Everything about the GLO Hotel has a mind twords helping the envrioment. From the sheets on the beds to the tolet in the bathroom. The downsides were minumal and may be more of a taste issue. There shower in my openion needs a a full curton to keep the watter and warmth in. I was also slightly annoyed at having to every day call down and get a new pasword for the wi-fi I doubt there secuety needs are so great that they have to change there pasword every 24 hours. Also on my last night the phone stoped working this really wasent an issue becase I only called down to the front desk to get the wi-fi password but still it was an anoyence that I am sure they fixed. The beds were wonderfull and the duel comferters were a unique switch. overall I would give the hotel 4 out of 5 stars

Great bargain. Large room with a great bed and shower. Lovely spa area. Would highly recomend this hotel to anybody going to Helsinki.

Et minimalisk hotell, Ellers bra

Skal du kose deg er dette rett sted. Ypperlig sentralt, sykler til utlån ( gratis) og Spa i 8 etg. Tøfler og badekåpe rett opp i heisen. Frokost er ok. Rommene er nye og trendy, store puter. Dette frister til gjentakelse... Ps de har egne tilbud til bryllupsreisende.. Forsøk også "Nuevo" - spansk tapas i særklasse 5 min. fra hotellet. Fruen særdeles fornøyd med alle shoppingmuligheter i umiddelbar nærhet

Hade turen att bli uppgraderad till en svit. Fantastiskt hörnrum me fin utsikt. Trevlig personal, härligt rum, sköna sängar!

Beautiful hotel downtown Helsinki. Great location in the middle of the shopping area. Recommend a drink in the lobby bar, a coffe to go and some Fazer chocolate to bring home across the street. Rooms are modern and comfy. Love the bathrooms. Have been there twice, and would definately go back. Frequent traveller, Norway

Ubicato in pieno centro, a pochi passi dalla piazza del senato. Arredato con design ultra moderno, bellissimo. Camea con ogni comfort, bagno diviso in 2 stanze. Vasca enorme. Il ristorante dell'albergo molto bello panoramico. Personale gentile e professionale.

Centralt, Mycket fräscht, Vänlig personal.

Wir waren für ein verlängertes Wochenende in Helsinki und somit war das sehr zentral gelegene Hotel optimal und war trotzdem nicht laut. Man kommt fußläufig überall (Hafen, Dom, Esplanade) hin. Das Hotel entspricht eher einer gehobenen Ausstattung, die Bilder versprechen nicht zu viel. Das Frühstück ist umfangreich und für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Wir würden immer wieder gerne herkommen!

Das Hotel ist erst zwei Jahre alt, liegt sehr zentral. Egal, ob zum Wasser oder Hauptbahnhof: alles nur wenige Gehminuten entfernt. Die Zimmer sind sehr elegant und modern eingerichtet. Das Frühstück ist lecker und bietet eine breite Auswahl.

Glo is zeer centraal gelegen en alles (haven, winkels, station etc.) is op loopafstand. Het is een zeer mooi, hip hotel. De kamer die wij hadden was zeer ruim met een zitje, een giga comfortabel bed, prima sanitair, slippertjes, badjas, badzout, apart toilet, grote tv., gratis internet (eigen pc.) Hulpvaardig personeel. Ontbijt is in een mooie eetzaal. Er is een ruime keuze zonder super overdadig te zijn.

The Hotel has a very modern design that is consistant throughout both lobby, rooms and restaurants. The quality of the beds were superb. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Het hotel ligt zeer centraal in het centrum. Je kunt alles ter voet doen. Het hotel is sfeervol modern ingericht en de kamers zijn netjes en comfortabel. Bar en Restaurant in het hotel zijn bijv. op zondagavond al om 8 uur gesloten, dat vonden we erg jammer. Een kopje koffie was niet meer mogelijk. Daarin tegen maken ze heerlijke zelfgemaakte pizza's met verse ingrediënten.

Das Hotel ist spitzenmäßig. Das Personal sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und immer hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind klasse ausgestattet und bieten jeglichen Komfort. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und abwechslungsreich.
