Stayed for a week - yes, the location is very limited compared to city centre hotels, being on the outskirts of town with only a couple of cafes/bars and one restaurant in the immedaite locality. However, there is an excellent bus service running from early in the morning until 11 pm at night, every 6/7 minutes during the week - 20/30 minutes at weekends - journey into city centre about 5 minutes and 1.20 euros each journey. Bus stop short distance from hotel. The hotel was wonderfully quiet, furnished to a high standard of modern style. Don't expect wonderful views or balconies, but Granada is not really a destination for spending lots of time in your room. Breakfast selection was functional and covered a wide range of continental tastes, from eggs and bacon (not English style!), to cooked meats, fruit, bread etc. Whilst it may appear expensive at 10 euros per head, this works out cheaper than a similar selection in the city. Personal taste dictated a preference for having breakfast in one of the city squares. Didn't have dinner in the hotel, but the menu looked good value, again compared with city prices. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to this hotel as the compromise of city centre location was more than compensated by the style, quietness and overall enjoyment of the hotel and of course the added bonus of the swimming pool - only small and situated outside, but nice to have the option to swim. The hotel staff were helpful and well organized.

i stayed at this hotel just for the one night, we arrived early afternoon and checked in, we had a room overlooking the pool, the room and bathroom were spotless. we had the car with us, the hotel has an underground car park which cost is a set price for the day, the number thirty three bus runs past the hotel and will go into the centre of Granada, this bus runs every fifteen mins. our main reason for going to Granada was of course Alhambra, the hotel is situated at the bottom of the road that takes you straight to Alhambra, it takes a few minutes by car and there are fabulous views of Granada along the way! I would highly recommend this hotel, for its location, friendly staff and the facilities, the outdoor pool was lovely to relax in after a hard day sightseeing!

This hotel is in an amazingly good spot for accessing both the city (10 minutes by bus 33 to Gran Via) or La Alhambra (5 minutes b car, straight up the same road as the hotel). The swimming pool was a godsend after a hard day touring and the staff are amazingly helpful. The only downside was that the AC turned off halfway through the night, which meant I woke to a pretty stuffy room. However, the windows in the hotel open which is a rare commodity these days. In saying that, I would absolutely recommend staying here.

Contemporary design and good service, we enjoyed our stay. Reception staff very helpful. Be brave and get a Bono bus ticket for you stay the No 33 is regular and takes you to the heart of the city and is only a 10-15 min journey. (More interesting places to eat in town as opposed to the Hotel and surrounds)

We went there on March 16, 2009. The rooms were very hot and they would not turn the air condition on. We had sleepless nights due to the heat in the rooms. There was one person running the front desk and overseeing everything. There was a long wait for everything. The location of the hotel is not convenient. You cannot walk to the center because of the highways. The bus service stops at midnight and the cabs are expensive. This is definitely a two star hotel.

Visited Alhambra Castle Feb. 2009 this hotel is a perfect location. It is on commuter route to City Centre and also at foot of hill up to Alhambra Castle. If you decide to use the City Tour bus it is € 18 and lasts 48 hours, it stops outside hotel so it can also be used as a commute bus. The general commuter bus is No.33 and € 1.20 to city centre.

The hotel was very comfortable and the staff were efficient and welcoming. The rooms were beautifully clean and we liked the overall modern look and feeling of space. Just one thing us "oldies" struggled with was the shower controls! To get into town was easy on the 33 bus, and enjoyable too.

This hotel is excellent. Very modern and comfortable. New, built two years ago. The Staff at the hotel very nice and ready to help with directions. The hotel has a wonderful view. There are other hotels closer to La Alhambra but this is only 10 minutes away and there are taxis available all day long. Taxis are very affordable.

The photos and exterior of the hotel didn't clue us in to how nice it is inside. It is modern, pretty, and has a wonderful bar and restaurant. Do be aware that it's very far out from the city center and there are few restaurants or services nearby. The taxi into Old Town is about 10 euros. You will probably want to head there every day. This hotel IS perfect for seeing the Alhambra - a 2 minute drive by car.

The hotel was very clean, staff was very professional. They could have been more helpful with touring suggestions. Had to ask for a map of the area. We did not eat in the restaurant (it didn't look like many others did either. We did eat in their cafeteria/bar which was very good and reasonable though very limited menu.

We stayed here for 1 week. Hotel is modern, very clean and we had no problems with the service. The hotel is not in central Granada, but we did not find this a problem. There is a bus stop situated moments from the hotel and the buses run frequently into town with the journey taking 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. We chose this hotel because it has a pool. The pool was great and very quiet when we visited in September. Only drawback i can think of was that breakfast was not included in the price of the room and cost an additional 12 euros each, which I thought was a bit steep.

This hotel was perfect for the two nights we stayed in Granada. The one disadvantage is the distance from the city centre, but there is a bus that goes straight there. But, it does have the perfect location for the Alhambra. Also, there is underground parking for 8 euros per day. We also used the Baths, which was just okay, but maybe it's because I am really spoiled by my gym in London. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the rooms are clean and modern, and there is free wireless internet access. We would definitely stay here again.

Everything was great about this hotel, with two exceptions. The buffet breakfast left much to be desired (possibly because breakfast is not a big meal in Spain), and the location is not great for a vacation stay--a bus ride or taxi is required to get into the city and to get to the Alhambra. But it was a nice hotel with great service and good amenities.

The hotel itself was perfect, the room, the service, the pool and the food. The staff friendly and helpful. The only problem is the location, its only 10 min max to the center but problem is you cant walk there, unless you want to walk on the tiny sidewalks on a highway. Good thing is there's a bus station at the hotel practically which takes you to the center and another one which goes to Alhambra. The city tour bus passes by the hotel as well. overall, i would stay there again

This hotel was really nice and convenient to the Alhambra. The staff was also very nice. The only problem we had was with the air conditioning, which we couldn't get to work. We called the reception desk in the middle of the night to get some assistance, but the language barrier did not help. Overall, the hotel was great - easy to find, great location, clean, and nice facilities. I would stay here again as long as we got the air conditioning to work!

This hotel was wonderful! It's far enough away from the busy city streets to be able to relax at the pool or outdoor lounge area, but close enough to everything that it's literally only ten minutes away from tourist attractions and points of interest. The room was magnificent - - spacious and very well kept by the staff. The concierge was extremely helpful. As a first time traveler to Granada, naturally I had a lot of questions, but they answered each and every one of my questions and followed it with a smile. The food offered at the hotel is a bit pricey, but well worth it; especially the breakfast. The only set back, which isn't so bad, is that American travelers have to reconfigure their wireless settings in order to be able to connect with the complimentary Wi-Fi offered at Macia Real.
