Prime Hotel Saint John - Roma

We booked this hotel last minute for 1 night and received an upgraded room that was quite lovely. I would highly recommend this hotel as the location is great, it is quiet, modern and a good value.

This was an ideal hotel for a short stay; about 10 mins walk from the Colisseum. It was well equipped, comfortable, good breakfast included and we could park the car outside for 4 euros a day.

Great location, five minute walk to the tube station and only two stops away from the main train station (Termini). Great rooms, friendly and helpful staff - Would staff there again when next visiting Rome.

The rooms were conviently located. Small but clean. The foot wash basin was within 6 inches of front of shower had to step in between the two. No luggage help , no parking available.

Nice hotel, good room, good location, sadly some reception staff were rude. The website claimed "garage parking nearby" but the receptionist denied any parking facilities, stating "try finding a space on the street" . cheers

Hotel was excellent very comfortable and good location only 2 minute walk from nearest metro and can go anywhere from there.Only 10 minute walk to the colleseum. room was very clean and of a high quality. All staff where very friendly and would bend over backwards for you. Cant wait to go back again.

Location - The hotel is not badly located although the area is quiet it is very easy to get around and a lot of the sights are a walkable distance. It is also very close to the manzoni tube stop. Rooms - The room was of adequate size, clean, modern & a very big comfortable bed. Noise was the only drawback you could hear the shower and toilet flush of the room above very loudly. Thank goodness they didn't get up too early! Staff - We didn't have cause to speak much with the staff but when we did they were helpful and polite. Breakfast - Very poor selection, and what was there wasn't good. Value - We had an excellent rate and overall the hotel was very good value for money for a reasonably central position in a very expensive city.

Next time I go to Rome I would be happy to go back to Saint Johns Hotel.

10-15 min walk to colosseum, but all other sites were past that. Neighborhood seemed sketchy, but that may be because it was a roman holiday so no one was around. Staff for the breakfast buffet seemed lazy and unaccomodating. Food wasn't that great. 'King' bed was two twins together. Bathroom was huge, but that may be because we had a corner room. All elevators in Italy seemed slow. Had more TV channels then any other hotel on our vacation.

Although this is a rather nice hotel reasonably close to main attractions (Coluseum is about 15 minutes walk away), the price of this hotel does not weigh up to the qualtity. The room is OK, but not big, the bath-room, although filled with Design things, is very unpractical (e.g. when taking a shower, the entire bath-room is flooded) Also the water temperature does not stay constant, varying from very hot to freezing cold. Breakfast is a buffet, with limited choices, and surprisinlgy for an Italian hotel with a simple coffee machine, no proper Italian coffee. Finally there are no real parking facilities, you have to park on the street, or try and find a parking garage somewhere. So all in all, it is a nice and clean hotel, but the price of the room is too high. Other hotels offer much better deals.

When we arrived at the hotel we were immediately greeted by a the front desk attendant telling us that the hotel was under renovation and that they booked our party to thier sister hotel across town. The sister hotel was very nice but was a lot farther than the original hotel which mean longer bus rides, metro rides and more expensive taxi rides from the Coliseum. We were only staying one night prior to a cruise and knew that we would only have time for one day's excursions. All in all the hotel was very nice and spacious but I felt mislead about booking the reservation in the area that I wanted because the hotel was apparently shut down for some time.

First off we picked the hotel for the location of it, but when we arrived there the hotel attendant said it was closed due to the A/C not working... so they had us transferred to another hotel that was under them and the hotel was completely out of the way!

Although the hotel has been remodeled and is very modern, they still have a lot of kinks to work out. The phone in our room was not working properly and they didn't not have any other phone available to us in the lobby, only the front desk phone. When we told them about this problem they sent someone up to verify there was a problem but it was not corrected during our stay. The shower overflowed with water, while we were bathing and we had to shut the water off so as not to flood the whole room. The mattress was thin and as hard as a rock. If I had it to do over, I would choose an older hotel a little closer to the center of town. Don't be fooled although this hotel looks very appealing online, it's not worth it.

Fantastic hotel in a convenient location. Like many people location and price is always key when selecting a hotel. This one is perfect in both respects. Staff we extremely friendly efficient and made the stay extremely pleasurable. Only a 15 minute walk to the main attractions of Rome a just enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle of a big city.

At first we thought this was less convenient and out of the way (from others we'd had nearer the train station) but turned out this took us through very authentic and fattening (fabulous food shops and restaurants) areas on our way to more popular places, i.e., coleseum, forum, etc. The walk became part of the culinary and Roman adventure. We'd stay there again (and the room was small but I managed to do a full astanga practice each night).

The room was modern, spacious, and nicely decorated, as was the bathroom. The elevator and a part of the hall were very obviously still needing renovation. It's a little outside of the main activity zone in Rome, but it's nice and quiet, close to the metro, and walkable to the Colosseum and other sights.

This was our second time in Rome, and this is where we'll stay next time for sure. The room and bathroom was very clean, and large, especially for European standards. It had a jetted tub, which my husband and I used every night after walking the streets of Rome all day. All the small amenities they give out were nice as well, like a mini sewing kit, tooth brushes and paste, razor, shoe polish, bath gel, lotion, shower cap, loofa and bath salts... more than I expected by far. The front desk staff were very helpful and were quick to offer a map and sit down with us to highlight the main sights. The free breakfast was good, and they have a machine that makes specialty drinks like espresso and cappuccinos. The hotel is also very close to the Metro stop,but you can definitly walk to the main stops, we did with no problem. However, if you have a lot of bags we'd recommend hiring a private car to the airport (only $50 euro from the hotel) rather than go up and down all the stairs, there is no elevator. Trust me, it's worth it if you have more than a carry on. We really enjoyed our stay at the Prime Hotel St. John, you can't beat it for the money.

Hotel was small but nice and clean. Breakfast was simple, but suited us as we were keen to fill up on the beautiful Italian cuisine later in the day! Location was good - a short walk to the Colosseum. Overall, enjoyed our stay here.

The hotel was lovely, very modern, excellent coffee, quiet street, professional staff. The hotel is located within a reasonable walking distance to major sites, but is not central. Unfortunately, the room was very hot, so we had to sleep with the window open. I would recommend it to a friend.

The rooms are smaller than the one in America. I traveled alone and was barely in my room, so it was not a big deal form me. However, this is a great value and the fact that it includes breakfast its a plus. The room was very new and clean. The female workers were more helpful than the guys behind the reception desk, not sure why?

I was very impressed with the hotel, staff was friendly the room was had very nice modern furniture , two flat screens one in the bedroom and one in the living area even had an expresso coffee machine, location was close enough to a metro station .I recommend staying in this hotel.

A 5 minute walk from the Colosseum is this wonderful hotel. Close to the subway, it is a a wonderful place to spend a few days in Rome. From the time we checked in the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. The breakfast buffet had numerous hot and cold items. The rooms are not large by American standards, but probably on par for Europe and had more than enough room for us. They are extremely clean and well furbished with a beautifully appointed bathroom. We felt very safe and didn't hesitate to walk around in the evening. Though there is still construction going on, we didn't hear any of it in our room on the third floor. The pool was not available yet, but we wouldn't of had time to use it anyways and the reasonable price of the room more than made up for it. The beds are firm, and the air conditioning cold! I would recommend this hotel highly.

We only had one afternoon to see Rome and wanted a hotel near the the Spanish steps. We needed to take the subway to get there. The place was so out of the way we couldn't go to the places we really wanted to go for dinner as we didn't have time for all the traveling. Staff gave us ideas of where to go for dinner but the information was wrong so we wasted a lot of time. In keeping with this problem, there were no directions for how to use their hi tech phone so I had to get dressed and go to the desk to ask for a wake up call. No info as to which channels were in English so we had to flip through 500 channels to find CNN (other hotels on our trip gave us this information before we even asked). And the worst problem. We came in after hours of traveling and the WC was broken.

This hotel was a great place to stay, in a good location and very clean. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was great. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.

Although the price was great, nowhere on hotels.com or on the hotel website did it say the hotel was under remodel. Thus, my wife and I were awoke at 7am to the sound of drills, hammers etc. In addition, the hotels phone system would not allow us to dial out of our room. We then had to call the main desk to have them dial the numbers and connect us. After having them do this for us a couple of times, the guest receptionists became very rude and would not connect our calls, and would hang up on us. I would have had a word with their manager, but we had to check out early. Let's just say I wasn't real thrilled with the whole experience.

Rent hotell med trevlig personal. Modern inredning och rent. Centralt. Frukosten var väl inte strålande, men helt OK utbud. Synd bara att det inte fanns pool.

Fint hotell med internasjonal standard. Moderne. rent, pent, ryddig og sentralt, med lite/ingen trafikkstøy. Flott hotell om du ikke er på jakt etter noe sjarmerende/italiensk. Gangavstand til Colosseum etc.

hotellets beliggenhed var en af de bedste ting. tæt på metrostation, tæt på forum romanum (ca 10 minutters gang), stille gade uden for meget larm og nogle ret fine små restuarenter i nabolaget. værelserne var smagfuldt indrettet i modernet design, med en rigtig god seng (noget der ikke er meget lidt af i italien). rengørringen var tilstrækkelig, bortset fro den dag de glemte at ligge betræk på sengen, og en sur lille mand måtte komme op og gøre det. morgenmaden på hotellet var MEGET sparsomt, til et hotel af denne klasse, selv i italien. personalet var hjælpsomme men ikke venlige. men generalt var vi ret godt tilfredse med hotellet, og kunne godt bo der en anden gang.

Næra Colosseum, men lite långt bort från allt annat. Trøtt service, som gav mærkliga turistrekommendationer.

Hotel pas loin du colisée et proche du metro, ce qui permet d'acceder facilement à tous les quartiers. Chambre un peu petite mais très fonctionnelle et design. Quartier calme et silencieux (contrairement à d'autres hotels dans d'autres quartiers). Seul bémol : le petit déjeuner (pas grand chose)...

La prima colazione x Hotel 4 stelle e' modesta il caffe ed il cappuccino sono serviti tramite un macchinetta! ed il classico uovo e pancetta serviti freddi, il primo del''anno hanno servito fredde anche le lenticchie. Non c'e assoluta trasparanza nei prezzi (abbiamo esteso il soggiorno per 3 gg ed ci hanno chiesto il dopiio della tariffa)le tariffe dentro le camere non sono esposte.Ha richiesta di chiarimenti ilpersonale alla reception ci ha detto che e' il loro sistema e se volevamo dovevamo cercare in internet peraltro non disponiobile in albergo. La mia camera (402) x 2 persone e' di piccola metratura tant'e' che lanta dellarmadio aperta si bloccava nel letto. Non servono accappatoi e le scarpette sono stato costretto a richiederle 2 volte ;perche' la prima le hanno rifiutate.

Bonne situation géographique, décoration moderne, très jolies chambres, petit déjeuner varié, très correct, personnel accueillant. A conseiller.

Fräscht och modernt och trevlig personal. Bra läge nära tunnelbana, och gångavstånd till centrum. Det enda minuset var frukosten som var oengagerad och tråkig, och kaffet från kaffemaskinen var uselt.

Synes oppholdet var veldig flott. Veldig fint inredet, veldig god frokost, og veldig sentral beliggenhet. Servicen var helt ok.

FInt hotel, men dyrt i forhold til, havd det var. Rengøring elendig, elevatoren virkede ikke, men personalet var flinke. Desværre ligger det langt fra hovedtorvet/centrum, og taxa er nødvendig.

Despite his great position (just 200 meters from the important andd beatiful Piazza San giovanni and halfway between two subway stations) and his elegant moden style, this hotel doesn't deserve my best rate; I had to wait one half hour before the check in becouse they lost my reservation from hotels.com and there were works in progress in the corridors with workers around and smell of fresh paint; moreover, in my room I found electric cables unprotected and switch was far from the bed; internet access is not free, so the satellite tv; finally, there was a damage and there was no hot water during the whole morning. Staff is very gentle and breakfast is very good.
