we loved our stay - starting from checking in (we were giving 2 glasses of champagne), getting to our room (they had prepared a cupcake for my husband's birthday), to dinner at Scampo (yum!), to drinks at the Yard with our friends. Everything was fabulous.

The concierge was most charming and helpful at our check in. The room was lovely - the room service breakfast perfect. My one complaint about the hotel is how much they charge for parking - but it is Boston.

I had a great stay and would definitely stay again. After checking out, I realized that I needed to address one concern with the hotel so I left a message for the hotel's General Manager, with the expectation that she would have a different person call me; however, to my surprise when the phone rang less than an hour later, it was the General Manager herself. So, I was 100% impressed and have to recommend the attentiveness to its customers' concerns.

We chose the Liberty to celebrate our 1st Wedding anniversary and to say the Liberty came through in a big way would be a huge understatement. The concierge was incredibly helpful and everything we discussed was prepared and ready for our arrival. Something certainly other hotels.com guests couldn't necessarily expect was that we were upgraded from what I'm sure would have been a magnificant room to a Suite on the 15th floor! The room was stunning, the views incredible, the staff magnificant. I think the only problem with the whole experience is that my wife's expectations for our 2nd anniversary are probably now a bit too high!

Stayed at the Liberty on a recommendation from a friend who lives in Boston. She said it was the new place to be and it was! Hotel is an old jail and although just redone, has a fascinating history. Restaurant and bar were great, very popular with the locals. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is located in a GREAT neighborhood - very central to all happening spots and within walking distance of everything. Hotel also has complimentary bikes that guests can use to explore the city. We took advantage of them and loved it. Housekeeping staff was excellent; room was always clean and products provided (Molton Brown) were great quality. One thing I would recommend is to get a city view room if possible, because the hotel is surrounded on most sides by Mass General Hospital so view is very limited in other rooms. Overall, we would definitely stay at the Liberty again and will be recommending the hotel to anyone traveling to Boston in the future.

The conversion of an old jailhouse to an elegant hotel is quite intriguing and the on the spot glass of champagne as you check in was a touch of surprise and comfort. One would definitely get a good nights sleep in the plush beds. The concierge was superb and assisted with every concern or question put forth. On the other hand, the hotel should disclose the fact that the lobby doubles as a mingling and party type environment, in other words I did not enjoy returning to the hotel at night and having to work my way through the crowd to reach the elevators which lead to the hotel rooms.

I was very excited to stay at this hotel, and for the price we paid I was very disappointed. The hotel staff, were nice enough, but I felt that they did not go out of their way to be helpful. We asked to be upgraded to a larger room, which the price on line was very low but they told us we would have to pay several hunderd dollars more to have the larger room. My boyfriend was going to propose to me that night so he was very disappointed that they were not more accomdating. The room was nice enough, but nothing special. We did have a nice view, but again I've stayed at other places for a lot less money and had a fantastic view. The bar is a hot spot, and a great place if you are single and looking to meet new people. As a hotel guest I did not appreciate having to wait in line to get into the bar, again I feel for the price of the rooms, the hotel guests deserve much more for their money. I would suggest coming here to go to the bar, just to check out the scene, but I would not stay here again. I travel to Boston frequently and have stayed at many other hotels in the area and this was not a good value for my money.

We were thrilled with the friendly service we received. Everyone was genuinely pleasant. The hotel was beautiful! We were impressed by the renovation of a jail into a gorgeous place to stay. It was wonderful that they were able to incorporate the original bars on the windows, and the catwalk, into the layout of the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Boston!

The impression you get walking in to The Liberty sets the mood for your stay. It is gorgeous. The staff is amazingly friendly. It is a happening spot with a great vibe. The bed was comfortable, linens soft, bathroom lovely, decor snazzy. We were disappointed by 2 things: 1) we paid for a courtyard view and did not get it the first night. (While we requested a change the next morning and were given the change graciously we were offered no refund for the mishap.) 2) the room we moved into was not cleaned as well as it should have been as I picked up 3 empty mini bottles of booze off the floor when we got in and the bathroom door was broken to the point of being difficult ot close.

The liberty hotel was nothing short of amazing. From the hotel staff, the restaurant folks, to the front door gentlemen that remembered our names for the whole stay..AH-MAZING! I really felt like we were royalty while paying a small fee. The beds were oh so comfortable. The room was inviting. Stay in the jail part if you can. If not, stay in the tower facing the city.

It is important to note that most rooms are actually not in the original jail building. All of the staff we encountered were wonderful. The towels and robes were not as comfortable as expected for a hotel of this price and rating. There were a lot of sirens going by in the morning because of the hospital next door, but it is expected in Boston. We had breakfast at Clink and it was amazing. I would definately stay here again.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The fcat that it was an old jail, and that much of the old jail cells, granite, etc was maintained makes it that much mroe interesting. Staff was helpful (although not able to print boarding passes, which is an amenity it should have for business travelers). the restaurant scopa in the basement is fabulous, with house made mozzerelas and pastas. I would definitely return!

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Liberty hotel for 2 nights to celebrate my birthday. I wanted to splurg a little and stay in a nice hotel. The Liberty definitely made my birthday very pleasurable. Overall, I loved our stay at the liberty hotel. The PROS: The corner suite was beautiful, spacious and had a huge bathroom.. The best feature was the spectacular views of the charles river and the boston city skyline. They were great and very romantic at night.. The views are accentuated by the floor to ceiling windows which encompass the entire room. The room was very high quality. The bed was incredibaly comfortable with high quality linens and a soft down comforter. And also an amazingly soft throw/blanket on the foot of the bed. The room included luxurious bathrobes and cotton slippers and a fully stocked minibar. Which i made good use of. The hotel itself has a really cool vibe to it. They really embrace the fact that its a former Jail and I think that has a very cool appeal to it. Many of the design features are prison related, which gives you a kind of dangerous/cool feel to it. For instance, instead of do not disturb signs, they have "solitary" Keys which you hang from your door to have private time. Overall I loved the liberty hotel and would definitely stay there again. However there were a few "Cons" at the Liberty Hotel. The first con, is there is no free/or garage parking available. You have to valet your car if you stay there, and for me, it added an extra hundred dollars or so to the cost of the stay. Which was a bit pricey to begin with. Then you have to tip everytime you get your car as well. Secondly the restaurant Clink was just way beyond the average man's pallate. There wasn't one normal item on the menu. Everything was raw or tartare or Hen Eggs or just weird food. Which to a well cultured person might suit your taste, but for the average joe, there was no steak, or chicken or anything you could even recognize on the menu. I made reservatio

I brought my girlfriend down to the Liberty Hotel for her birthday weekend and we have not been able to stop raving about this hotel since we came back home. Upon arriving, we were promptly greeted by the doorman/valet who took our bags and escorted us inside the hotel. At the front desk, we were checked in and received a complimentary upgrade on our room as first time guests. They also treated us to two glasses of Champagne at the front desk. This was an amazing start to the weekend and a fantastic touch of class. Our room was INCREDIBLE. The view of Boston and the Charles River was perfect. The bathroom had a separate shower and tub which was a nice added bonus for the room. We ate at Clink, Scampo, and had drinks at Alibi, all of which were amazing and unique in their own way. The hotels architecture and design is so amazing, you won't help but be impressed by it. The location is great (about a 5 minute walk from Boston Common and 10 minutes to Newbury Street) and the service was top notch. I could not have asked for a better experience here. I will be coming back again VERY soon!
