My daughter and I stayed at Barcelo Malaga for 7 nights. It far exceeded our expectations! The hotel is perfectly situated inside the very new and modern Malaga Train station - with a shopping mall including many trendy stores and restaurants. Barcelo Malaga has easy access to local and long distance train service, the airport, and local and long distance bus routes (bus station is directly across the street). The staff was so helpful and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable - particularly the reception staff and our favorite "Alvaro". He never failed to deliver when we needed assistance. The hotel is quite modern but also extremely comfortable with large (by European standards), well appointed guest rooms including any amenity a traveler may need. The daily breakfast buffet scrumptious and was by far the best I've ever had - including stays at several 5 star Caribbean resorts. I highly recommend this hotel as the perfect "home base" for anyone visiting Costa del Sol.

The staff and the funky decoration were the best aspects of this hotel - not that there was anything at all to complain about. Good location next to the central train station and only a 10-15 minute walk to the much prettier 'old town' part of Malaga.

This hotel has it all. Ultra modern, extremely comfortable bed, amazing shower! The complimentary breakfast buffet was more than we could ever expect. I would love to stay at Barcelo Malaga again.

This is a very nice hotel co-located in the Malaga, Spain train station. The rooms are very futuristic. The shower was really outstanding. The staff at check-in was friendly and offered us a chip PC drive to print out our airport boarding documents for our airline trip home the next day on their printer. My only complaint was that the one way glass mirror door to the bathroom was installed backwards, so a roommate can see into the bathroom but you cannot see out. The handle on the bathroom door was too close to the door edge so that it was possible to pinch your fingers closing the door. The restaurant was excellent. My wife and I had dinner there and the food was excellent. The breakfast buffet, included in the room price, was very good. The room price was reasonable.

This a fairly new hotel, attached to (literally) the brand new Maria Zambrano Central Station and shopping mall. In terms of transportation logistics, you could not ask for a better location. It is ultra modern and chic in design and function. From the modern furniture, to light sensors that call elevators for you before you even get to the elevators, this is a very futuristic establishment. It also has such funny features as a slide from the first floor to the lobby. Also, it has free wi-fi and a much bigger and better breakfast buffet than more expensively priced hotels. I would actually say that the designers got a little carried away with the modern theme when they made the bathroom completely see through, so that the toilet and shower both were transparent. The door to the bathroom also would slide shut as opposed to close normally, so sounds, humidity, and odors were able to enter the sleeping area. The hotel is typical of many European hotels in that it lacks full sized dressers in the rooms. This is completely inconvenient for those like my wife and me who stayed for 9 nights. I would only recommned this hotel for those spending a night or two. Because of the noise and sound pollution from the nearby train station, hotel staff must open and close the windows. The rooms lack proper ventilation, so after a shower the rooms became unbearably humid. The temperature would occasionally become too hot and the a/c did not help much. On the whole though, I'd recommend this for single travellers or couples on a short stay to Malaga who want a convenient, affordable location.

This hotel is in an amazing location, literally attached to the Maria Zambrano Malaga railway station and its attached mall. You couldn't ask for a more convenient logistical location. You can get to the trains without going outside, and the bus station is 3 minutes walk away. The downtown Malaga attractions are all within a 15 minutes walk. The slide from the 2nd floor to the 1st is fun and intriguing. The hotel has light sensors that usually result in an elevator waiting for you by the time you approach the elevator bank. The breakfast buffet has a lot to choose from and is maybe the best included breakfast buffet I've ever seen. And the staff at least try to accomodate customers' concerns. The hotel automatically provided guests with basic toiletries. The hotel is very new and designed in an ultra modern style. Actually, it was a little too modern for my tastes. The bathroom had clear walls, so that the toilet and shower were see-through to the rest of the room. While I suppose this wouldn't be a problem for a solo-traveler, I didn't feel comfortable having my wife watching me in the bathroom, and I can't imagine what it'd be like for friends vacationing together. Additionally, like many other European hotels I've been in, they don't have large dresser drawers to unpack clothes. While this wouldn't be a problem for someone staying for a night or two, considering that we spent 9 nights there, it was rather annoying. Additionally, I suppose for climate and/or noise and pollution control reasons you cannot open the reasons. After a shower the room became unbearably humid and would stay so for hours. There was little to no ventilation so the air was also very stale. So, for the price I was satisfied. I don't know if I'd stay again for a long time for the reasons discussed above, but if I were ever in Malaga again for a night or two I'd definitely stay in the hotel.

The photos of the hotel drew us to stay there but they do not do this beautiful hotel justice. What a fabulous stay we had with a beautiful room and fantastic breakfast. All of the facilities are extremely well managed and I would go back and there there any time of the year. A fantastic hotel in a truly marvellous city! Superbo

The Barcelo in Malaga was very modern, yet too modern in some ways. The bathroom door and one of the bathroom walls were see through. Also, there was a strange smell in the hotel rooms. The continental breakfast was definitely superb. Yet, the location left much to be desired. Also, there is a lot of construction being down around the hotel, so the noise woke us up on a Saturday at 8am when we were hoping to sleep in. The slide in the lobby was definitely a plus.

Very good, clean luxury hotel. Very impressive buffer breakfast selection. Hmm.. but the best is the location travelwise. Just step out of the reception and you are at the Vialia railway station. Also all big rental car companies are located there, which is why selected the place. Need to go to the the city center ? Take a bus of many flying past and get there with one euro.

Being 2 hours late because we got lost we was greeted by a friendly guy who escorted us to our room. They exceeded their service as the room service had closed but they allowed us to eat. The Room was spectacular better than expected, goregous decore throughout the whole of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent good range of food promoting a healthy diet. All the Staff were Extremly friendly. Loved the Art around the hotel especially the Slide from the dining room to reception.. very quirky!! Highly recommend anyone staying in this hotel. Beautiful

From the time we arrived we were treated like VIP's. The staff, especially Nachos, helped with direction, luggage storage, fantastic free breakfast and computer use, car rental pickup, train and bus use. This is an amazing hotel. It is located in a mall with the main train depot. You hear no noise. We stayed here off and on for 5 separate stays as we worked our way around Spain, but always coming back to our home away from home. It was so easy to get to the airport on the bus across the street coming in, and the train going out that we didn't need a taxi. The rooms at the Marcelo Malaga were the best that we stayed in all over Spain and they were a lot less expensive and others didn't have the friendliness nor quality. Did I mention it has a slide as an alternative to taking the elevator. Fun!

Bedrooms are comfortable but watch out for the glass door to the bathroom/toilet

Unfortunately our stay was only one night. We wanted a hotel at reasonable cost and not far from the airport and this more than fit the bill. The room had a very modern decor with a clean and uncluttered look. Breakfast buffet was outstanding. While we didn't have dinner here our traveling mates did two nights later and raved about it! It is a convenient walk to the old town section.

This hotel is truly fantastic! It's at the train station, which allows you easy access to the huge amount of amenities at the station (tons of shops and restaurants). The hotel is very modern and clean. The restaurant at the hotel is sooo good and very unexpected. The beautiful mosaics are a bonus! Go here!

Right next to central station (which is also a very nice shopping place), bus station and taxi station. everything is very nice, new and modern, clean and tidy. staff speaks very good english with giid services. A slide for fun in the lobby and attractive designs as well for chilling in the lobby area.

Great hotel---great location for seeing Malaga and the trains for Spain are five minutes from the hotel. Breakfast was really good and the picnic breakfast the morning we left early was wonderful. Really clean and comfortable and all the personnel were very helpful.

The hotel was very contemporary in style. The room size very large for a city hotel. The staff at the front desk, the breakfast buffet, and the restaurant were all extremely friendly and helpful. Construction immediately outside the front doors of the hotel was unfortunate, but speaks to the investment in the property.

I stayed in this hotel a week ago, it is a nice modern hotel right on the centre of Malaga. It is in an area of develpoment so is currently right next to a building site. Top tip at the moment is ask for a room on the rear side of the hotel, therefore no building noise. That said when i closed the windows i could hear no noise and that in conjunction with the electric black out blinds made it a very relaxing sleep. The hotel is very trendy snd even has a slide from floor one to ground. I am not sure if it will be "so cool" in a few years but at the moment it is great.

When my husband and I first started looking for a hotel in Malaga for a last minute get-away, we were shocked and very happy when we saw the pictures and prices of the Barcelo Malaga! We thought it was too good to be true, but we decided to give it a shot. We are EXTREMELY happy we did! The Barcelo Malaga is located just a short walk from the heart of breathtaking downtown Malaga, as well as being located INSIDE of an awesome shopping mall and next to both the bus and train stations. The parking garage at the hotel was very well maintained and secure (we recommend that you try to walk everywhere or grab a cab for cheap...traffic is pretty hectic!). If you speak English, the hotel is very accommodating (ask for Nacho if you need any assistance), and the free breakfast is out-of-this-world (definitely try to get there early!). Our room was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. We honestly have no complaints! We will definitely go back to the Barcelo Malaga...soon!

Excellent hotel - In the new Station/Shopping Centre/Railway Station. Yards from the platform and so convenient when arriving late into airport (15 mins away on the train)....Baggage carousel to bed in 20 minutes

Das Hotel ist im neuen Bahnhofkomplex integriert und ist gut mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Autoparkplatz ist im Kompex vorhanden. Die Parkplatzgebühren unbedingt im Hotel zahlen (ist günstiger) . Gutes Frühstücksbuffet mit einem reichhaltigen Angebot.

super hotel!

Super belligenhed i forhold til evt. indkøb, strandpromenade, busforbindelser til/fra lufthavn og busser til resten af byen og Andalusien. Engelsktalende personale, som var meget hjælpsomme. Værelset - ud over alle forventninger med alle faciliteter man kunne ønske sig!

Det er et godt hotel og beliggenheden god da det er vigtigt at være tæt på transport- og explore muligheder. Alt i alt rigtig godt.

Stor valuta for pengene. Alt er i top, alt fra indretningsdesign, deres champange brunch som er inkl. til gratis fitness center med de nyeste techno-gym maskiner med tilhørende gratis frugt og kildevand

Rien à redire !

C'est probablement l'un des meilleurs hotels dans lequel je suis descendu: le service est très bon, mais c'est surtout le design ultra tendance et moderne, sans être arrogant et superficiel. On s'y sent juste super bien! Le restaurant est aussi très bon, avec une décoration très sympa. C'est très dur de trouver mieux dans ce domaine! En plus l'emplacement est assez central, donnant accès directement à une gallerie commerciale et des loueurs de voitures.

Cava en verse Jus); design inrichting; Centraal gelegen boven station (HSL naar Madrid)en winkelcentrum; op loopafstand van strand en centrum; P voor de deur; Malaga is een echt spaanse stad en nog niet zo overspoeld door toeristen als de rest van de Costa d.S.

Perfekt läge i samma hus som järnvägsstationen och med bara några meter till busstationen. Det är också gångavstånd till gamla stan i Malaga. Mycket flashigt designhotell med en fantastisk frukostbuffé. Bra sommarpriser.

een prima hotel aan het station gelegen en 15 minuutjes lopen vanaf het centrum. helaas is het hotel hier en daar iets te goedkoop gemaakt waardoor bijvoorbeeld het raam niet open kan omdat het rolgordijn er voor zit & vallen de stopcontacten uit de muur. maar de service is super, het personeel heel erg behulpzaam en het ontbijt echt heerlijk!

ambiente moderno architettonicamente curato ricco di spunti eccentrici e colorati in stile "pop art". Arredato in stile minimalista "zen" associa colori sgargianti a curiose particolarità costruttive, sopratutto nella hall, che ricorda più una discoteca che un albergo. Le stanze sono fantastiche con letti immensi (2,5 x 3 mt! di larghezza!). Ricchi i particolari architettonici anche nelle stanze con un ottima cura dell'illuminazione. Unico neo della stanza: non si possono aprire bene le finestre. Abbiamo soggiornato in una stanza per fumatori! però, comunque era possibile aprire parzialmente una piccola finestrella spostando opportunamente una super tenda elettrica. La vista dalla stanza non era eccezionale ma questo è dovuto anche all' anarchia urbanistica spagnola che vede crescere palazzi immensi come funghi in un bosco dopo la pioggia! La prima colazione è davvero stupefacente in perfetto stile continentale a buffet. Illimitata la scelta di pietanze e bevande.(persino il prosecco) Il non plus ultra delle colazioni ad un prezzo accessibilissimo (meno di 100 euro per 2 persone tutto compreso!) hotel davvero eccelso, peccato che il parcheggio non fosse compreso (14 euro per la notte). Consiglio l'albergo a chiunque, sicuramente uno dei migliori della Spagna.
