Macdonald Manchester - Manchester

Took my partner their for her Birthday, she loved it. Really nice hotel, room was a great size and very well maintained. Staff were more than helpful and polite. Facitilies were good, shame there was no pool or jacusie. Parking lot not the easiest to find. Will stay at Macdonald again.

My wife and I stay in Machester every couple of months and this is favourite place to stay. It's centrally located, has a car park, great modern well sized rooms with views over the skyline and all at a very reasonalbe price. If I have a grumble, and it's only a small one, the bar and restaurant areas are a bit soulless.

We had a lovely time at the hotel. The room was very spacious with a fab view of Manchester. It was very close to the railway station, which was brill for us. The staff where very helpful and friendly and made us welcome. Breakfast was excellent (especially the Black Pudding),plenty of choice. All in all a great stay,would definately go back,,.

Stayed here Sat and Sun night for a conference I was attending. I got a bit of a snobby look when I turned up in jeans and trainers, but apart from that service was excellent. Modern hotel with clean lines, soft carpets and acres of room. Honestly, the room was massive, with large bed, large shower (with good pressure), well-priced mini-bar. I'm not a demanding person, and all my needs/requests were dealt with professionally and politely.

The hotel's location is amazing, right next to the train station, hence ideal after a long journey. I found a great room rate on this site, which made the stay definitely worth it, but would not have paid the full price on the hotel's own site, simply because it was for just one night, after a gig. The room was spacious, clean and bright. The bathroom was very new and stylish, but the room had a few retro features, like the very outdated (but still functional) hairdryer, which was more amusing rather than annoying. Being close to the station, there are many transport links near it, but we walked to the Arena (about 20-30 mins). Overall, a relaxing place to spend the night after an event. Oh, and the bathtub was great!

My girlfriend and I were prompted to stay at MacDonald Manchester by the positive reviews on this site, and we were not disappointed. The staff were polite and welcoming and the room was very large and as well equipped as a much more expensive hotel. The breakfast which was available for an additional £10 per person was great too. The only slight problem was the location. It's only about 7 minutes walk from the city centre, but it's an ugly walk to be honest, around the back of Piccadilly. Location wise it falls short of hotels like Abode and The Midland, but the room is a class above those hotels. It really depends on what's most important for you. If you want the doors of your hotel to open straight out into the heart of Manchester then you can pay a lot more to stay at The Renaissance. If you don't mind being a few minutes away (by foot) then MacDonald offers similar comfort and class for a fraction of the price. Highly recommended.

Overall, a very nice hotel with good facilities. The room was very nice, staff were helpful and would be somewhere I would recommend to others if they stayed in the Manchester area.

I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel. The room was spotless, there was a double shower in the bath room along with the bath. The standard room was very big. Breakfast was extensive and staff were very friendly and helpful.

Awful view - room overlooked rubbish and derelict ground. Had to queue ( yes queue at a 4 * hotel!) for 15 minutes Sunday morning for breakfast , the queue was about 30 deep alonside other guests already dining. Then very slow table service, no fruit glasses left, no yoghurt , tables unattended. Staff dismissive. Other guests using spa facilities were delayed for treatments by about an hour which meant rearranging their schedules(had group 'spa break' booking) and party broken up. Staff on reception and foyer and room service very efficient and friendly. Rooms clean and comfortable beds.

Good size rooms, clean and modern environment. Very comfortable beds. Good room service. Lack of inclusive WiFi which meant having to pay extra for a Tmobile service. An inclusive WiFi for guests would have made room comfort 5 out of 5. Gym and Spa services are good. Make sure you have your travel sports kit.

A great value hotel, especially if you get a late deal. The Spa is good but a little frustrating being on different floors. The Staff are, without exception, great! Nothing too much trouble and, unusually, they looked as though they enjoyed their job. Well done McDonald Hotels.

This hotel is really lovely. Situated right next to the train station Manchester Picadilly, so perfect for weekend travellers! Really nice hotel rooms, with really nice little extras such as ipod dock, and speakers in the toilet! staff were very friendly and made some excellent recommendations for restaurants. Only cirticisms were the room service menu, especially what was available after 10pm - pretty much just sandwiches, not so handy when you've just returned from a match! Also the rooms were quite hot at times, and i couldn't turn the air con down and you couldn't open the windows. Everything else was excellent and i will return there and recommend it to a friend

Et stort moderne hotell med romslige rom. Badet var stort men kun med dusj. Hadde rom mot Manchester Piccadilly Station men bra lydisolering gjorde at man ikke hadde noe trafikkstøy. Minus for dårlig heiskapasitet . To heiser, men en var ute av drift mesteparten av tiden.

Zentral am Bahnhof gelegen und mit allen Verkehrsmitteln gut erreichbar. Idealer Ausgangspunkt für sightseeing und shopping. Fünfzehn Minuten zu Fuß zum Arndale Center. Hotel modern,sauber und guter Comfort und Service. Personal spricht starken Akzent und ist auch für Leute mit guten Englischkenntnissen schweer verstehbar. Sehr gutes Preis Leistungserhältnis. Hotel kann weiterempfohlen werden.
