Not family type hotel

My fiancée and I spent a weekend here in August. Not only was this one of the best priced hotels we found in and around Amsterdam it was also a great hotel. The rooms are funky and comfortable, excellent cleanliness and helpful staff if required. The only slightly strange aspect is the lack of door on the bathroom, not a problem as a couple but maybe a little 'intimate' as a group of friends. Location wise it is a little outside of Amsterdam, about 15mins via tram / metro. But it's location in the financial district mean that the transport links are excellent. The tram & metro are both 2 mins walk from the hotel and trains can also be caught at the same station as the metro, which is less than 10mins away. At weekends the area around the hotel is very quiet (I assume it would be in the week to, certainly in the evenings anyway) so you end up with the best of both worlds, fairly close to the centre and quiet for a bit of kip! Only downside is the last tram / metro are around 12.30, which was ok for us but for anyone wanting to enjoy the nightlife into the early hours you'd have to grab a taxi I guess! On the whole though, great hotel at a very reasonable price!

the hotel is in the world trade center. its a little more in the business area. but to go to all the touristic stuff you are 2 minute walk from trains, and trams, the buses stop right in front. since the hotel is inside the building, late at night someone has to buzz you in but there is always someone. inside the building there are bars and restaurants. the public transportation is super easy. all the touristic places are just about 10 minutes away on bus. and a long but nice walk. its an amazing experience. you check in simply with a machine that gives you your key and check out the same way. the little lobby reception is modern with vending machines, coffee machine and fruit and pastries all day for you. and there is always someone to assist you 24/7. staff was super friendly. it was really cold when i went and they gave me a heater. i highly recommend this hotel. the bathroom area was a little uncomfortable with no shower door but its modern and amazing. the bed was so comfortable. its probably the coolest hotel i have ever stayed at.

Qbic is a very funky little hotel. We were very impressed with how it looked. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was pretty good. The bed was MASSIVE and very comfortable! However, the bathroom had no door, so probably wouldn't share a room with a friend. Also the air conditioning didn't work in our room, so the room got very stuffy and was it was almost impossible to get to sleep, as there were no windows that could be opened and no fan and the staff were unable to do anything about it.

This hotel needs to be removed from the hotels.com website and placed on a hostel website. It is just horrible; the rooms are nasty, the maid service is awful, and the bathroom doesn't even have a door on it.

We spent a total of six nights at this boutique hotel just outside of Amsterdam’s city center. A 25-minute ride on Tram 5 from Centraal Station, this business clientele-focused hotel, was a good place to stay. Transit connections were very close to the hotel and were easy to use with plenty of friendly GVB personnel nearby to direct your travel questions. The lobby was comfortable and the snack machines were very convenient. An internet-ready PC was available in the lobby but the Wifi in the room was even better. The bed was very comfortable and the side chair and desk were very well designed. The various lighting options were nice to have and we did not mind the open bathroom stylings, however, it was a bit cold to shower in the morning. In the future, I will probably stay closer to city center, however, this was a good Amsterdam “starter” hotel in a quiet neighborhood. One drawback is that as the area is primarily a business district, there were few eating/entertainment options available at night and on the weekend. That said, during weekdays, the Albert Heijn convenience store nearby offers a great selection of food and drink.

Not a hotel in a classic sense. It is in the WTC office complex, conveniently located at the South Station (Amsterdam Zuid). It is only a section at 2nd and 3rd floor, facing either the street (which is nice) or inner courtyards (which is weird). After first night I moved to street view. What a difference. I loved it. Floor to ceiling windows. View was the skyline of some funky new office buildings (interesting architecture)on the south side of the WTC (which is located in an area of office buildings -towers agglomeration). Hotel is very automated, though at peak times there is a "real" person on duty - and a very nice, friendly and helpful one too. Besides that there is always someone reachable by their "desk" phone. Access to the hotel outside of regular business hours (since it is inside the WTC) is through ringing the hotel bell next to the doors. Worked great. I love the lofty style and interior of the rooms. The artsy wallpaper collage at the open main wall. The bed is great. The lounger rocks. Very urban (the pictures show it good). I like the bar desk. Yes, free WiFi. The color light feature is nice, even I couldn't change the color. I only would add a few more hooks and a bigger shelf in the bath(room)module. I recommand this place, especially it is really something different and not the regular (boring) hotel thing.

Bra kommunikationer (tåg, spårvagn och buss) precis vid hotellet. Lugnt område. Coolt hotell som var lite annorlunda. Men det gick inte att ändra färg på ljuset runt kuben som var en av anledningarna till att vi valde hotellet . Sådär vad gäller städning, de städade helt enkelt inte utan bytte enbart handdukar och påse i papperskorg. Sådär vad gäller vattentryck och värme i duschen.

Qbic fremstod smart og rent - tilbød internet på værelset samt en go arbejdsstation også til at se tv fra. Det havde dog kritiske mangler som fx. en dør mellem toilet og resten af værelset. Qbic bar præg af at være mere design - end funktionelt design. Check-in funktionen var smart, buffetten lækker og hotellets placering centralt ved metro og tog et plus.

-les lumières de couleurs ne fonctionnaient pas. -les draps n'ont pas été changés à notre arrivée (drap taché) -les draps n'ont pas été changés du séjour -nous n'avons pas été prévenu que l'hotel proposait un tarif interessant pour le parking (29 euros la journée au lieu de 2 euros la demi-heure)

tres bon hotel, dommage qu'il n'y est pas de portes pour les toilettes dans les chambres

Concept très original à un prix raisonnable

Staying in this hotel is definitly an interesting experience. The room looked very fancy and was totally different than all other hotel rooms I have stayed in. Positive points about my stay: Very close to Amsterdam Zuid train station, fancy look of room, free Internet, comfortable bed, good shower. Points for improvement: hotel is still in renovation, low service concept, no real reception, but self check-in which did not work for me, very cold room, without a heating to manually adjust, windows could not be openend, floor was not really clean, some parts of the room were a bit broken, no possibility in the bathroom to hang anything, somehow a cold, impersonal athmosphere in the hotel. Conclusion, might go again for one or two nights if I need to be in the area around Amsterdam-Zuid but not for a private holiday.

Point positif: TRES bien placé Tram et metro a 50m. centre ville en 10min Négatif: Très mal indiqué ( dans un centre d'affaire desertique, personne pour receptionner ), poil dans les draps, douche qui fait piscine et qui laisse de l'eau partout, un peu de bruit...

Chambre parfaite, par contre, hôtel très protégé car quartier des affaires d'Amsterdam, difficultés à rentrer dans la chambre le soir si on ne connaît pas bien l'anglais... Pas de fenêtres, non fumeur.

L'albergo ha uno stile moderno ed accattivante. Particolarmente curiosa è la disposizione della camera... Unica stanza a cubo, da provare.
