I Portici Hotel - Boloña

The I Portici Hotel was perfect for our stay in Bologna. I was a little concerned after reading the reviews regarding issues with the air conditioning, but we did not find it to be a problem, and we were there in August. The staff was helpful for the most part - although I was surprised that the front desk didn't seem to acknowledge us when we walked into the building late at night - I kept thinking to myself "what if we weren't even guests here?". Perhaps this is a result of the hotel bar being on the second floor - not sure, but regardless, it would have really concerned me if I were travelling alone. The room was beautiful and the bathroom was clean. The shower stall in our room was a little small - fine for two girls but not sure how the average American male would feel about it. Overall, I would recommend this hotel, as it was beautiful and very convenient.

The hotel is well located on the main street between the railway station and the true city centre. It is stylish and turned out to be nicer than I had anticipated. My room on the front of the hotel would not be suitable for light sleepers!

Its a lovely hotel - very nice design but very poorly managed. The rooms are freezing - no heating and an air conditioning system which doesn't work. The charging on the bill is not properly done and takes ages to sort out.

The hotel is on the main street, a short walk from the train and bus stations and easy walk to the old town. The room faced onto the street but was very quiet and comfortable with ac. Hotel is very modern, smart and clean with polite staff. Got a good deal through this site but breakfast not included so can't comment on that.

Rating this beautiful hotel was hard. The place has stunning rooms and the building overall is impressive. HOWEVER, the rooms have a new energy saving air conditioning system that cannot compensate for a hot day in Bologna. The rooms were very warm and humid and the A/C did not effectively cool the space. We tried all of the tricks we've learned to get that darn place cool (ie extra card in the main circuit to keep the A/C running all day, etc), but in the end we couldn't overcome the weak mechanical design. Needless to say, we didn't get a lot of sleep. This hotel would be an amazing place to stay at during moderate weather (ie Fall or Spring). I would stay away from this hotel during June, July and August, and I would think hard about staying on the border months where warm weather may present itself. The staff was incredibly professional and courteous. They seemed extremely embarrassed by the poor A/C systems. The rooms did not have a clock, radio or any other time piece. The bathroom shower is a major let down considering the rest of the renovations they made. The shower stalls resemble high-end trailer or camper stalls (fiberglass/plastic booths). They are a real tight fit for an adult. You get the impression they ran out of renovation money and made a cut back on the showers. The rest of the bathroom has clean lines and modern fixtures. The Executive rooms have amazing murals painted on the 15' high ceilings and they boast private balconies overlooking the main street (AV Independenzia) or the park they back up to. The hotel is less than a 5 minute walk from the train station. It's a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the main city square.

Vi var en uke på dette hotellet, og ble veldig fornøyd. Det så ikke ut som det var så mange andre gjester. Hotellpersonalet var hjelpsomme med alt fra tips til gode restauranter, tog og bussruter, steder vi burde reise til, kart osv., og de var veldig vennlige. Hotellrommet var fint, bra komfort, minibar, safe, etc. Hotellet ligger veldig nære både busstasjonen og togstasjonen, og maks 10 min. gange fra sentrum. Eneste jeg kan si som var negativt var at den lå nesten i enden av en ganske lang gate, og man måtte gå den samme gata hver gang man skulle inn til sentrum, og man ble ganske lei den gata etterhvert... Men det har ikke noen stor betydning, det var også ganske billige taxier der. Alt i alt er vi veldig fornøyd med hotellet og oppholdet.

Har boet på hotellet to nætter med en uges mellemrum og i to forskellige værelser. Blev meget positivt overrasket over den høje kvalitet i enhver henseende. Kommer jeg til Bologna igen vil jeg meget gerne bo på dette hotel. Hotellets gourmetrestaurant er efter min vurdering meget tæt på en stjerne i Guide Michelin.

très bonne localisation entre la gare et le centre ville historique, personnel très disponible, chambre spacieuse et très design (tout comme l'accueil qui est magnifique); pas d'avis sur la restauration parce que pas essayée.

Bien que la chambre que nous avons occupée était au rez-de-chaussée, elle était parfaite. Très propre, literie 2m x 2m de très bonne qualité, très silencieuse, sanitaire de très bonne qualité. Le petit déjeuner américain était parfait.

L'Hotel si presenta pulito, molto basic e pretenziosamente " chic." In realtà la mia camera, al secondo piano, era particolarmente rumorosa, la doccia con un "idromassaggio" , aveva le maniglie che si sono staccate alla prima manovra di miscelamento dell'acqua. In sintesi gradevole nell'aspetto, ma appena sufficiente nei servizi.

Nydelig hotel, særdeles sentral beliggenhet. Fantastisk valuta for pengene.

Aardige bediening. Mooie kamer. Temperatuur op de kamer was erg hoog; airco werkt niet ivm seizoen. Jammer dat er geen Wellness / Sauna ruimte is.
