Ulisse Deluxe Hostel - Sorrento

Comments from previous guests suggested that this was an excellent place to stay in Sorrento and these were absolutely spot on. We found the room to be spacious, clean and furnished to a high standard. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the hotel's location was within very easy walking distance to Sorrento's centre. The hotel (for there is no way that this should be described as a hostel) is in a quiet location so no noisy bars or passing holiday makers to keep you awake during the night! The buffet breakfast was ok - it cost extra and whilst the food trays could have been replenished a bit faster it was worth the money . We'd return there for sure.

My girlfriend and I have just returned from spending a few days at this Hotel and overall we were very impressed. The room was huge and bathroom twice the size you'd expect. The location is also very convenient as it is central to the old town. My only slight complaints would be I found a few stray hairs in the bathroom when showering and that the breakfast choice was a little limiting. The staff were excellent everyone you came into contact with wished you good morning etc. For the money this is well worth a go, don't be put off by the inclusion of 'Hostel' as it is a Hotel through and through.

The rooms were very large for European hotels, and was also very clean. Beds were decent. Biggest problem was the noise. The floors are marble and everything echos. Once the cleaning crew starts in the morning you can forget trying to sleeps. Chairs and equipment are continually dragging across the marble floor making horribly loud screeching. I wasn't on the top floor, but there is a parking garage on the top of the building and I would imagine cars over your room would add to the noise. Also, the walk from the hotel to the downtown area is about 10-15 minutes, to and from the train station is about 15 minutes, and to the port (for capri or positano boats) is about 20 minutes. There is a bus stop nearby but the bus only comes once every 30-45 minutes.

This was a little distance from the train station but worth the walk there. A little hard to find but again worth finding.. A beautiful place perched a short walk above a very quaint old town fishing village. This was a very nice place to stay while in Serrento and Serrento is just charming.

The room is equivalent to a hotel standard. It's still in the city centre. Good vaue for money. Highly recommended.

great hotel on the outskirts of the old town area of Sorrento. 2 minutes to the old town but a 20 minute walk to the boat docks and an easy 10 to 15 minute walk to the train station. Rooms were large, great condition, staff very helpful.

The only downside that we could find to this place is that it was a tad difficult to find even w/the Google map. However, the bus driver knew exactly where to find it. I worried about the "hostel" part of the title. That was needless. The room was large, nicely appointed, the staff exceptional, and the price outstanding. The warning I'd offer to anyone coming to Sorrento from Naples is to stay out of the Naples train station if at all possible. We thought we were prepared for the pickpockets there but we were really wrong. We were on the circumvesuviana when that occurred. We cannot say enough about how helpful the staff was in getting calls made back to the US & in filing a police report. Pascal @ the reception desk was just wonderful. It's a superb value for the money and very comfortable.

We loved our stay at Ulisse; our only complaint was that it is a bit off of the main strip and a bit of a hike to the train station (definitely do-able with luggage and all). However, the price was unbeatable; it cost the same as a hostel, but it was nicer than most of our other hotels in Italy. The room was incredibly spacious and included a bathtub as part of the shower, which was nice. The whole hotel and room was pristine-ly clean. I would definitely stay here again!

This Hostal was the best deal my husband and I encountered while traveling thru Italy. The accomodations were confortable, clean and quiet and the breakfast was excellent.

Was more of the 3 star hotel then hostel, really nice rooms and breakfast, staff weren't that helpful and internet was a little pricey

Dejligt hotel - god standard - God beliggenhed - dog lidt langt fra Centrum og havn - men tæt på Marina Grande.

Vi kom med leiebil, og slet med å finne hotellet, til tross for GPS. Innkjøringen var dårlig merket, og vi måtte ty til lokal kjendtmann. Fin parkeringsgarasje, og svært sentralt i byen. Hotellet har sett sine beste dager, men vi trivdes godt. Vi bestillte røykfritt rom, men røyklukten hang i veggene!
