Hotel Chiusarelli - Siena

Slightly tired decor, but it was a comfortable room at the back with views to the stadium. The shower was over the bath with a shower curtain - clean and pleasant enough. No lifts, but the receptionist helped me upstairs with my bag. The hotel is actually just across the road from the start of the pretty, walkable part of Sienna, so the location was really great. We walked from the coach stop just around the corner too. Didn't try the restaurant, but the room looked very grand when we saw it at breakfast the next day. Overall, we were very pleased with our choice of hotel.

We stayed 2 nights in a fairly large room on the top floor overlooking the stadium which could get lively if there's a match on. It was only the second floor but with quite a lot of going up and down before getting there, we could have done with a lift. The bathroom was quite small and with no shower curtain quickly turned into a wet room. There seemed to be a lot of tour groups staying there and breakfast can get very busy, and it's pretty basic. The restaurant in the hotel was given good reviews but we found it a bit ordinary and bleak. Convenient for visiting all major sites in Siena, all within easy walking distance. Parking at the hotel is very limited so could be an issue. Overall ok but a little disappointing compared to the reviews I'd seen.

Good position

Was a last minute booking and quite enjoyed it. Chose it due to the fact that it seemed near where the bus from Firenze stopped (about 200m). Had a room on the first floor at the back which was quiet, had effective aircon and was clean. Main drawback was the little bathtub which was too small for a bath and not covered for a shower. Nevertheless, the location was good (about 10mins walk to the Campo) and the continental breakfast was very good (great selection of fruit but very weak coffee!). Recommend that you also call them if the booking sites show non-availability as we managed to get an extra night despite show full on the web.

We were very pleased with the Hotel Chiusarelli. The location is good, the building is in great condition, and the furnishings are warm and welcoming. It's a 3-story walk-up, no elevator. Avoid the 1st floor rooms facing the main street.

A very convenient hotel, close to the bus station and within easy walking distance of the centre.

Nice hotel in a good location. Easy walk from the Bus Station. Our room overlooked the soccer stadium and that was a lot of fun! The only issue was being that close to the stadium we were up with the birds...literally. Definately not the hotel's issue but with all the tress next to the stadium if you keep your windows open at night you will hear the birds each morning. The hotel staff was wonderful and answered all questions we had. Sienna is a small town so everything is within walking distance from the hotel. For the money this is a great place to stay.

This hotel is a fine example of a 3 star hotel, the reception staff were exceptionally helpful. The rooms were clean and very sufficient for our needs. The hotel itself is in a fantastic location, just a short walk from Il Campo. We came to Siena to look for ideas for our wedding next year and to be honest if you are thinking of getting married in the Town hall in Siena then maybe this hotel would be ideal accommodation for your guests as it is so convenient, reasonably priced, and very tuscan, it is also amazingly situated for the football ground , during our stay we had a fantastic view of Siena playing AC Milan!!! People would pay alot of money for that.

This is an old fashioned, middle class hotel in the European tradition - spotless, large rooms, great location, and very tired decor that will remind you of trips with your parents through Europe in the 1960s and 1970s. But very comfortable and for the money and location hard to beat - hotels around the corner cost four times as much. Hotel was filled with middle class Italian families of several generations - the great spotters of value.

Well located for the town centre but definitely 'no frills'. Breakfast only average. Our deal (3 nights for the price of 2) made hotel good value, but would be disappointed if we'd paid full rate.

The hotel is set in a stately building on a slightly busy street. The common area is tastfully decorated without being extraordinary. The rooms are a good size and the decore is plaine. Bathroom is clean and well appointed. We had a room on the second floor next to the street which was not a good choice. A motor cycle woke us up at midnight as well as early morning traffic. A room in the back would probably be better. The location is convinient to the old area of town. The hotel was very close to the train station so the taxi ride was not expensive. Over all, I am satisfied with the stay for the amount that I paid.

Very convenient to public transportation and Siena's historic sites.

Flott beliggenhet i en flott bygning. Vanskelig med parkering var eneste minus.

Die Zimmer sind zwar etwas karg eingerichtet, aber sauber und zweckmäßig. schönes frisches Obst zum Frühstück.

Good: friendly staff -Location: near center. close to Gramsci busstation. Buses to trainstation (line 3, 8, 9) San Gimignano (130), Firenze (131R). Buses to Chianti area (125) leave at trainstation -clean room + bath Poor: -noise by stairs, noise from (football) field. -breakfast was poor: hard bread with cheese, ham, fruit drinks too sweet, but fruit and eggs. Grade 7.5

Central location close to the historical centre and within short walking distance of all main attractions. Well worth the rate for the room given the proximity to the center and that there is a private parking for the guests. The only drawback that I can come to think of is that the room was not very well cleaned, however the stay at the hotel was all in all a very good experience.

Die Bedienung beim Empfang war sehr gut. Es wurde uns sofort ein Parkplatz zur Verfügung gestellt. Das Zimmer war ansprechend groß und gefliest (hygenischer Vorteil). allerdings war das Bad innenliegend und das Licht musste angeschalte bleuiben, damit die Lüftung funktioniert. Fühstück gut, allerdings hätte ich in Italien einen besseren (geschmachvolleren) Kaffee gewünscht. das Personal (speziell an der Rezeption) sprach sehr gut englisch.

Ligger rett ved porten til gamlebyen. Helt topp plassering og du kan parkere bilen din gratis på hotellets (få) p-plasser. Mangler basseng på de varme sommerdager, men vi var der kun en natt og var veldig fornøyd. Fam. med ett barn, god frokost, men sterk kaffe...vi fikk forresten et veldig stort rom. Kan absolutt anbefalles. Såg det var mangen som kjørte frem og tilbake for å lete etter hotellet sitt, dette fant vi med en gang.

Nice hotel with a good breakfast buffet. The hotel needs some updating, but is an ok 3 star hotel. You don't need your car to visit the sights, altough there are just a few parking places at the hotel. Sometimes you need to walk about 10 minutes to the car parking. Most of the nearby parkingspots have restrictions.

A very nice hotel, well located close to all amenities. Would certainly recommend. Our visit unfortunately coincided with some rather noisy renovation work which took the shine off an otherwise delightful stay.

Je me suis rendu a l` hotel Chiusarelli ce 29 Septembre 2008. L` hotel est assez bien situe, sur une hauteur pas tres loin du centre historique. Malheureusement les chambres ne sont pas bien insonorisees (ch.42), nous avions carrement l` impression que les busses passaient dans la chambre! De plus il se situe pres d`une eglise nous etions donc reveille des l` aube. Il y avait egalement un probleme avec le syphon de la bagnoire qui ne fonctionnait plus donc impossible d` evacuer l` eau de la baignoire. A part ca l hotel a du charme, les chambres sont comfortables et propres et le service est bon. Toutefois si je retourne a Sienne je choisirais un autre point de chute. Bon voyage!
