Hotel Admiral - Sorrento

This hotel is in an idealic spot - very authentic ambiance, lots of great places to eat on the water, great views!

Great location if your happy to sit by the pool, nice restaruants nearby, the town is a bit of a hike but there is a bus to take you into town...

The Hotel Admiral was a nice place for us to stay while in Sorrento. Located at the lower part of the city and right by the water made for a little bit of an up hill walk to the rest of town and the bus or train station, but we think it was worth it if you want to be right next to the water. We had thought about getting the higher priced room that looked out on the Tyrrhenian Sea, but opted to save a little cash and get the lower price room. We thought we would be looking at the rock wall behind the hotel and we surprised with a very nice view of the sea, and had more money for some very nice dinners right on the beach, only minutes from the hotel. The breakfast that came with the room got old after the first day, and after day two we would go elsewhere for our morning coffee. I would recommend it to friends, and would stay there again.

The only problem with this hotel is that there is no street to get there. We used GPS and end up in an aaley bwith no exit. You have to park a few block away and walk down with your luggage. The hotel itself its great, with a beautiful view.

We had a very long day of travelling and should have done ourselves a favor and hopped in a 10-15 euros cab ride from the train station. But, no, we wandered on foot with our luggage and there is some tricky route to get here for my American mind; one way in by road, one way in by foot, but at least we knew it was at the end of the GRAND MARINA (not the Piccola marina), so at least we headed in the right direction. When we finally arrived a bit weary, we found our room was lovely! Top floor with a balcony overlooking the marina from our corner vantage was at once secluded and part of the night's happening. The tile floor was neato with sea creatures decorating the tiles and CHAMPAGNE was waiting for us!!! Which was exactly what we needed and a really nice surprise. The staff was friendly enough. We never had time to make it to the pool or restaurant. We ate across the marina at Da Emilia's and at the Dolphine next door. Both offered nice big plates of clams and mussels within a stone's throw of the hotel. The elevator was slow and we had a tough time using the phone at first, but those a tiny complaints. I would absolutely stay again overlooking the water!

Hvis man er til smarte dyre hoteller og skal opholde sig meget på hotellet og sit værelse er det måske ikke det rette. Men hvis du vil have et hotel der ligger dejligt og roligt, og som mest skal bruges til overnatning lidt afslapning og eller bare som udgangspunkt til at se og opleve byen samt øerne omkring synes jeg det er perfekt. Eneste jeg kunne savne var måske Internet på værelset - men det var der på terrassen og i baren. Ellers perfekt til os!

Ett bra medelklasshotell med härligt läge vid havet och Marina Grande. Vi beställde rum med balkong och havsutsikt och fick rum 108 med terass. Undvik detta rum då terassen ligger längst in i en hörna, med en terass på sidan och en framför!! No privace what so ever! Vi klagade och managern ordnade så vi fick byta dagen efter till ett annat fint rum med balkong, snyggt skött! Bra priser i baren på dryck och lunch, maten helt ok. Frukosten ingen sensation, men helt ok, gott kaffe. Flera restauranger i Marina Grande, gör det lätt att gå ut och äta. Personalen vänlig och hjälpsam även om det ibland saknas lite språkkunskaper. Rummen fräscha och städningen riktigt bra. Kan vara lite lyhört ibland, men det är inget problem som stör. Tyst aomgivningar med havet och det charmiga Marina Grande känns bra när man vill gå ner i varv. För att komma till Sorrentos centrum kan man åka buss (2 euro) eller gå branta trappor upp mellan gamla hus. Det är helt ok om man är fullt frisk,i annat fall kan det nog vara lite jobbigt. Gästerna består mest av medelålders engelska par. Det är därför lungt ochg stilla på hotellet! Tycker dock att hotellets läge tillsammans med ovan nämnda faktorer gör det värt att ta en liten promenad till och från Sorrento C. Vi var definitivt nöjda med vår vistelse.

Fint hotel helt nede ved vandet, for enden af en smal gyde. Morgensol på hotellets terasse men i hvert fald i oktober måned forsvinder denne igen hurtigt. Flere gode spisesteder i selve Marina Grande og kun 10 minutter af stejle trapper til centrum.

Hotell i klass 1-1,5. Inte mer!
