The hotel room was overpriced. The rug has stains, the walls has marks as high as the ceilings, there were marks on the ceilings, and the furniture already looked like it was breaking apart.

Aloft was a very cool hotel, great modern design and clean. I was totally blown away by the cost of parking! $24 to park overnight...and the parking was across the street! If you have anything to carry, you almost have to valet. So, parking is ridiculous...in my opinion you should never have to pay to park at a hotel when you're already paying for a room. My only other complaint was that the coffee in the room was terrible and there's no room service. Seemed a little odd to me, but this was my first experience with a W hotel. Otherwise, if it wasn't for the high cost of parking, I'd stay again...I'd rather spend that money towards a bigger room with good coffee and room service.

The rooms are loft-styled, sparse and trendy. Staff was casual and welcoming, just like the atmosphere. The location was great: within walking distance of a move theater and the convention center. Also very close to the airport, but noise wasn't a problem. Bring your own cups and ice bucket, because they don't supply those.

I was staying at the hotel because of D1GP at solider field and it was the cheapest/closest. The rooms were large and very nice. Big TV, Big bathroom, lots to do in the hotel itself. The outside seating was very relaxing and comfortable. Parking was rather pricey for across the street parking lot and no free breakfast was the only two complaints.

This is a very new, clean and modern hotel. It has free wireless internet access, a nice workout area and a pool (small though). I liked everything but the location. There are just very few restaurants in walking distance. You have to have car. You have to walk about 15min to get to the train station if you want to go to downtown Chicago (about 40 min ride). Parking is not free. We got a great rate. It was a great hotel. Great value.

I greatly enjoyed my stay at the aloft. The hotel had a very modern feel to it, but it was still comfortable. The rooms had a very open feel to them, and I like the flat screen TV. The in-shower body wash and shampoo/conditioner dispensers were convenient and I loved the shower head! The only complaint that I have is that the shower leaked a lot of water onto the bathroom floor through the crack in the shower door, which often required putting two towels on the floor to soak up the excess water. Other than that, it was a great stay and I would definitely come back again. The hotel was also very close to the Stephens Convention Center where we spent most of the weekend. Though I wasn't excited about paying extra for parking, it was something that I was aware of prior to my visit because of other hotel.com comments.

While the hotel design is very sleek, it is better suited for vacationers. It was very loud and dark and my wake up call never came. While I can expense off the parking fee -- $13 for a parking at a hotel near the airport is extreme -- especially when the entire parking garage was empty.

The hotel is a great place to stay, it has a very modern look to it. The staff was friendly and the service was well above average. This is a nice place to stay if you are traveling with children. The only downside to the hotel is the parking... it is 20 a day, and you a have to get your parking garage pass validated every time you leave the hotel.

aloft is very trendy; definitely different from any other hotel (chain) that I've stayed at. I'm in my mid-20s, and I think most of the people I saw there were younger than I am. I loved the room: walk-in shower, king-size bed, 42 inch TV. Unfortunately, all the food is a la carte (and overpriced), and there are only two computers for guest use (which were constantly busy).

We stayed in Aloft for the Taste July 4th weekend. The two nights were about the same cost as one night in hotel downtown. We didn't drive at all since there was a shuttle to the Blue line. Paying for parking at the hotel wasn't fun but it was cheaper than parking downtown for a day. The rooms are very modern yet comfortable. The showers were great and so was the bedding. The hotel bar has pretty decent liquor and a pool table. The surrounding area is pretty much other hotels but there is an excellent movie theater across the parking lot that let's you eat dinner and watch movies on loveseats in a smaller private theater for a little extra money. Overall all it was a nice stay for the money. If plan to frequent downtown and money is not an issue than stay downtown. If you're looking for a hotel that has a younger, cooler vibe and don't mind a train ride then save your money and stay at Aloft. "The Blue line runs 24hrs and is the safest feeling of all the CTA lines, so after a night out you can get back to your comfortable room."

When you go to this hotel and you park in there garage, you have to pay $13 dollars a day. They do not tell you this at the time of check in and almost forgot to tell me before we left. If you have kids do not go there. They put us on the 2nd floor with 2 kids and had the music playing till almost 4 am. Thye refused to give use our money back for that night and I had to almost beg to get my mooney back for the parking, A very bad hotel!!!

Neat, the room was pretty cool little small but it had a real nice atmosphere, the service was ok, the parking was very confusing and the day crew at the alhoa desk were very nice and helpful, not so much the night crew, the stay was overall nice but it's what happened after I left, I noticed I left my computer charger, and I be called everyday for the last 5 days to see If they have with every call I make to them they promise me if I leave a mesg they will call back. Well day 5 no call. So that makes me pretty mad. But the hotel was neat

I booked the hotel for my parents who were coming to my graduation. The hotel is like a night club (no restaurant but a big bar). It is fine if you wake up at 11:30 am and go to sleep at 4 am but it seems like it would be a bit intense for older adults. The front desk staff was kind but lacked a sense of hospitality. If you are coming to Chicago to go to bars and nightclubs, then this is the place for you. If not, you might want to try another hotel.

When we walked into the room my wife said "this is the IKEA hotel--it's like sleeping in an IKEA room display". The room was modern and cool looking with some really nice features: a walk in shower, a 42" flat screen with a plug & play media center for your personal electronics, free (and very fast) wi-fi. The room was very comfortable, and the bed linens were some of the best I've seen.

This hotel is one of the new European Modern concept hotels that has very comfortable rooms and a very fun bar in the lobby. Because this is one of the Starwood hotels, it is very high quality, even though it is simpler and more trendy. There is a bit of airplane noise, but it isn't too bad in the rooms after hours. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for something comfortable and centrally located near the airport.

This overall is a nice hotel. The big issue that I have is that parking is NOT included as part of the price quoted, so you have to tack on another $13 or $18 to the rate to account for the parking garage or valet service. This is something that they should rectify.

As we entered the lobby there was a huge party going on. A local radio station was hosting an event and it seemed like we were entering a night club not a hotel. 1) had to pay for parking - was unexpected and it was not listed on the reservation from hotels.com 2) king size bed did not have a fitted sheet, only a flat sheet.. basically slept directly on the mattress. need to use a fitted sheet. 3) floor needed to be vacuumed in the hallways 4) stand up shower leaked water on the floor soaking the towel you're to stand on when you get out 5) comforter was too heavy - consistently fell off the end of the bed and had to pull it back up through the night (hard to do when you're half asleep) 6) only place to sit in room was one chair or on the bed, other seating was placed under the tv. 7) pool was kind of small, once there was 5-6 people in it, it was hard to maneuver without running into someone. 8) bed was placed on piece of slick wood so it slid around through the night. needs a mat under it or something to hold it in place. 9) hotel does have good atmosphere, nice decoration 10) courtyard was nice, comfortable seating overall, would not go back unless the price was absolutely perfect.

Close to the train station and the hotel runs a free shuttle to the train station and back. 50 min from downtown Chicago by the blue line. Wow! My bf and I wanted to get away for the weekend, but we couldn't get too far or too "fancy". We were pleasantly surprised by the Aloft. Of course, when I first booked, that cliche "If it's too good to be true...." kept ringing through my head, but I went ahead and ignored that feeling. I'm so glad I did! The Aloft, while slightly smaller and less glitzy than it's sister hotel, still held its own. The pool was refreshing and kid-free for a good hour; the room was cozy and relaxing, and the swanky toiletries made me want to stay an extra night (no kidding!) I will be honest and admit the few negatives, though: They "ran out" of hand soap (what?!); there was no room service, and the grab-n-go food in the lobby was overpriced and lacking; the view was no where near as serene as in the pictures (hello, construction site and highway); they only had Showtime which played very old movies; you had to bring your own DVD player. Despite those annoyances, we enjoyed our stay.

We got a pretty good deal. But the hotel seems to be more family oriented or for the college-age group. The lobby has board games and a pool table. Which is all fine if that is what you're looking for. Rooms were clean. Water glasses would be nice though. They only provided one "to-go" coffee cup in our kingsize room and did not replace when we had used it. Our airconditioner was really loud, but I don't think that is typical, since our friend's room was pretty quiet. Other than that, the place was clean and affordable.

Jet noise is loud when aircraft are taking off to the east, but this is not the normal direction. Parking is expensive and all snacks and breakfast items available cost quite a bit. Lobby and bar area comfortable with many games available, nice pool, and recreation area.
