The NU Hotel was actually pretty cool place to stay. The staff was very friendly. There are plenty of places to eat. Additionally, although the Brooklyn Correctional Center is across the street, the area is very safe due to the number of NYC police officers on the beat in the surrounding area. I will stay again!

Very modern new hotel in the Brooklyn/Brooklyn Heights area. My son just moved to NY for school and this was the closest hotel to his dorm. Felt very comfortable being a single woman in The Big Apple. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly and rooms were affordable. Would go back again.

I have friends in Brooklyn and it is wonderful to finally have a lovely, comfortable hotel in the neighborhood. The room was comfortable and well designed and the staff quite friendly. The internet access and other business features were good and wonderfully consistent. If you don't feel like staying in the the city, this is the perfect option!

The only issue is the traffic noise. People who cannot sleep while listening to traffic noise will struggle in this hotel. Great staff. Outstanding ambiance.

This hotel was in a location that was in the heart of a great neighborhood, but was also quiet, clean, and had great decor. Subway and LIRR stations were close by, as were diners, restaurants, a shopping mall, and drug store. The staff of the hotel was very friendly, accommodating, and professional, and did a lovely job of assisting me reach Babylon on Long Island. As a working journalist and historian, quality and comfort are essential; based on the courtesy with which I was received this trip, I am prepared to make Nu Hotel my destination hotel for any additonal trips to New York.

very new and clean feeling, very hospitable staff, cute evening bar and nice bartender. just a little noisy if staying overlooking Atlantic Avenue - but not enough to lose sleep over.

Nice location if you don't want all the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Just 4 or 5 blocks to Bergen St and Jay St metro stops. Rooms were very clean and modern and A/C was COLD! Staff was very professional and helpful.

Very nice place, not cheap, but had lots of amenities. Close to Subway stops and many restaurants and bars on Smith Street. The only critique i had was that the rooms felt a little less like a hotel and a little more like an art museum. Cold tile floors, windows without blackout curtains only pull-down blinds, and overall not as comfortable as other hotels in general.

Nu-Hotel is shiny white and clean, brand new as of July 2008. Front-desk personnel are young, hip and friendly. Complimentary wi-fi and breakfast are a big plus in NY. Drawbacks--located on busy, noisy Atlantic Ave, the traffic din drowns out even the 747-volume a/c (why not double-paned wndows and quieter a/c units in a new property?) Central location, though, steps from the MTA and within walking distance of many of Brooklyn's attractions, trumps the inconveniences. Take earplugs and you'll be fine.

Very attentive hotel staff from the front desk to housekeeping. All are very customer focused and service oriented. Willing to make your stay a very pleasant experience. Very spacious comfortable rooms for the NYC area. Great location with easy access to subways to Manhattan and nearby shopping on Smith and Court Streets. We will definitely return to the Nu hotel Brooklyn!

Overall, the experience was very positive - great room, airy and light, spacious. Price could have been a little lower for Brooklyn, but no complaints about quality or service.

Pricey but probably worth it. Only complaint, I enjoy baths but could not keep the water in the tub.

Beautiful room and great location. Highly recommended for business travel or a weekend stay.

Excellent hotel. Very nice room, comfortable and clean. Affortable and in a good location (so close to the subway!) Breakfast was better than I expected too! And though I didn't hang out, looked like happy hour was fun too. Will definitely stay there again next time I'm in Brooklyn.

The staff was very friendly from the doorman to the front desk. I was very impressed. Even the continental breakfast was great - the pastries were excellent and the Starbucks coffee was better at the hotel than at the typical Starbucks. The location was very good. I believe it is better to stay in Brooklyn and travel to Manhattan by subway. You avoid the cost, crowds and get the true local flavor of New York. Tne only drawback to this hotel was the street noise. We were on the 4th floor and it was noisy. Ask for a room not facing the street and everything will be perfect. In any event, I will return and recommend this hotel.

The hotel was very modern, comfprtable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although the hotel is not in manhattan, the nearest subway station is only 2 minutes away, and you'll be in midtown manhattan in about 10 minutes.

Very conveniently located. We were happy with the accomodations. I thought it was a bit expensive but I guess for New York it wasn't so bad!!

Nu Hotel Brooklyn exceeded my expectations: very friendly staff, quick check-in, and lovely room - clean, nicely decorated, and included all amenities. Also a very safe neighborhood with lots of restaurants and shopping closeby.

Very lovely, new, boutique hotel - a "green" hotel we were told upon arrival. Front desk, Bell and Housekeeping staff were all extremely pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Location was great - close to lots of boutiques and restaurants, as well as an antiques district. Also, we were able to walk from the hotel to the Brooklyn Bridge and across to lower Manhattan. Only complaint: on the first night there was no water and we were not given notice that water was either shut down for repairs or out of service. There was no adjustment on the bill at check-out. Other than this, we enjoyed our stay. The flooring in the room was awesome - cork? Very soothing to tired feet at the end of the day!

Great experience, staff was very friendly and hotel is in a good location a short walk to two subway stations, so getting to and from the city was reasonable. Hotel is new and very clean, with modern decoration and interesting features like cork floors. Only issue I had was requested rollaway was not delivered to room and we were not given clean washcloths when housekeeping cleaned the rooms (bathtowels yes, washcloths, no) both problems were very happily taken care of by staff when I asked. I will definitely check out the price and stay here again instead of in the city if they keep the prices reasonable.

Clean and shiny. Extremely courteous staff. The room was immaculate, and the design was a far cry from the prefab rooms I'm used to. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable and I fell asleep almost instantly (although it could have just been the hours of walking I did around New York). The neighborhood is great, and there are dozens of restaurants within walking distance. They had a free continental breakfast with fresh Starbucks coffee which I appreciated. We walked to the hotel from Manhattan. The Brooklyn Bridge (and Manhattan) is within walkable distance, but there are also a couple subway stations less than a block from the hotel. Taxis are also plentiful. Especially considering the price was among the lowest among hotels in and around the Manhattan area, I am extremely pleased by my overall experience.

My wife and I both agreed that the hotel itself and the staff were terrific. The room was clean and nice. Breakfast was good coffee with good croissants and apples - juice was available. The staff was polite, attentive, and genuinely so. Very pleased.

very good position in Brooklyn, close to the B.-bridge two blocks from Fulton Mall mainly sports clothes and sneakers half a block from nice restaurants and boutiques/shops. Smith St. has a good night life if you are not looking for posh but more local places to go

Hotellet ligger centralt nära tunnelbanan (Borough Hall) och Smith Street där man kan äta på de smaskigaste restaurangerna. Om man inte vill bo mitt i smeten på Manhattan och upptäcka Brooklyn/Dumbo så är detta ett jättebra hotell.
