Hotel Amano - Berlín

This hotel stands out like an oasis in an area of East Berlin that feels Bohemian and somewhat derelict. There is much building work going on in the area and some strange characters hanging around. That said, the hotel is located close to one of the underground rail lines, which is convenient for travel to Berlin city centre. The Friedrichstraße shopping area is a 20-minute walk down a quiet road. The building is new, so it smells new and everything is sparking. The room is furnished in a minimalist way and with startling colours for the furniture such as bright orange. The carpet has been substituted for parquet flooring, which can be cold in winter. The shower was large and so good that I wanted to stay in there as long as possible! The breakfast buffet is expensive and does not have a generous selection compared with that of other hotels. The staff are junior at best and can be quite abrupt, but they generally got the job done.

I was blown away with the hotel and service. As a very avid travler I will say this hotel is the best in the world out of all the hotels that I have stayed in! The price, the staff, location and the rooms....wow! 1. They helped me with locations, tours and phone calls. 2. They helped me mail gifts back to the USA and gave me the boxes and tape and helped me get to the DHL office. 3. They also have bikes for rent for only $8 euros and trust me....RENT A BIKE. 4. Management staff would come out and talk to me and make sure everything was ok. 5. FREE WI-FI!!!!! 6. Soft beds, only german on the tv...bbc and cnn were english so bring a dvd player if you want english. 7 Great staff!!!!! I can not say enough about the service. Great location near dinning, tours and trains!
