Radisson Blu Hotel Cardiff - Cardiff

For the price per night it was cheaper than a travelodge or Holiday Inn but the facilities were far better (other members of our party were very envious as we'd done some research on hotels in the area!) Placement of hotel was ideall for access to the City Centre or for Bay. If I return to CArdiff there's only one hotel I'll be staying at!

Reception desk looked very much like an estate agent office but the staff were very friendly & helpful. Rooms was not 4 stars but it WAS clean & comfortable. No windows, only air conditioning for ventilation, when switched off the room was hot & musty, when on the room was cold.

I would go there again. But although the hotel was only 9 weeks old, it looked much more used... but anyway a good choice in Cardiff.

The hotel is in a great spot . i was travelling by train and you could see it when you left the station only 5 mins walk away. All the main attractions were in easy walking distance. Even though right next to railway line there wasnt much noise. Hotel itself was all new . The staff were friendly enough. The room was on 12th flr no problens with lifts . well furnished and stocked with complimentary items. Shame hotel was built with views over the bay area. Had breakfast which had a great selection of hot and cold and kept stocked at all times. I had booked room only but asked to add their special breakfast rate on check in with no problem but when i came to check out it hadnt been added to my bill!!!(i was honest and mentioned this so paid for it). all in all a good stay and will go back.

The service was outstanding. You felt very welcome in this hotel. The hotel had free wireless Internet access which was very easy to use. I also loved the view from the room. Mine was on the 11th floor. The hotel has got 21 floors.

the hotel had only been open about 4 weeks when we went to stay, so there were still a few bugs that needed to be worked out. the rooms and bathrooms are really beautifully furnished and the beds are comfy. we had a few hiccups- the thermostat in our room was stuck on air-conditioning so the room was freezing the first night. we were moved to another room when the problem couldnt be resolved, however in the new room, the rod in the wardrobe fell down when i hung clothes on it, and when my husband sat on the chair in the room one of the legs broke off and he took a tumble! i know it sounds like i should be giving a bad review but the helpful staff went out of thier way to resolve the problems we had, and the hotel itself was so nice that i would definitely go again! the breakfast was absolutley fantastic- a promotional price of £10 per person per day seemed steep (its usually £14) but the food was worth it! due to all the problems we had, the management offered us a complimentary dinner for our party of 4 and we were extremely impressed with the quality of the food. we also were pleasantly suprised to recieve wine and chocolates in our room with a lovely note from the staff. dont let the proximity to the train track put you off- we didnt even realize it was there as the hotel is so well built! they are building a new shopping complex across the street- sadly it wont open until sep 2009 so we missed out on it but we cant wait to go back next year!

We booked this hotel for the Ashes series last weekend. The room was lovely (if a little on the small side), and staff were very helpful and friendly. We ordered room service one night and the cheeseburgers were out of this world. We also asked for a late check-out on Sunday and were told that we could have the room until 3pm! The finishing touches had not quite been completed (eg in reception) however this did not in any way affect our stay.
