Location. The smart six-storey Hotel Dei Mellini is located in Rome, Italy, one block from the River Tiber and 200 metres from Piazza Cavour square. The hotel is across the river from Villa Borghese, the Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona square and the Pantheon, one kilometre away. Vittoria Colonnia bus stop is 200 metres, and Lepanto metro is 800 metres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. An 18th-century neoclassical exterior of two former apartment blocks conceals the Hotel Dei Mellini's contemporary interior. Chandeliers, original artwork and a fireplace decorate the marble lobby where concierge and multilingual 24-hour front desk staff assist guests and provide sightseeing tips.

Potted palms line the hotel's courtyard which offers an all-day menu from the Mellini Bar, which is furnished with fabric chairs and dark-wood tables. Complimentary buffet breakfasts are served in the Hotel Dei Mellini's breakfast room, decorated with fresco paintings, bright linens and fabric chairs. In warmer months, guests can wine and dine under canvas canopies on the rooftop terrace.

The Hotel Dei Mellini has three meeting rooms for small groups. Computer rental and event catering are available.

Lemon trees, flowers and climbing plants decorate the sunny rooftop garden, open for drinks, snacks and sunbathing. There is an adjoining solarium with loungers and shower. Inside, the hotel has a lounge and a private Italian art collection with works for sale.

Guestrooms. Warm tones and cherrywood furnishings decorate the Hotel Dei Mellini's 80 climate- controlled guestrooms. All rooms have satellite television, high-speed Internet ports (surcharge), minibars and safes. Marble bathrooms are equipped with bath/shower combinations, Etro toiletries and bathrobes.

Expert Tip. Classical music lovers can enjoy concerts at the Byzantine-style Chiesa Valdese on Via M Dionigi, three blocks away on the corner of Piazza Cavour.

Distance to Hotel Dei Mellini is 33 kilometres, approximately 35 minutes' drive.

Getting there. The Leonardo Express runs between the airport and the Termini train station in the city centre every 30 minutes. The journey time is about 35 minutes and single tickets cost 9.50 EUR. The Terravision shuttle bus runs between the airport and Termini station. From the station, Metro line A goes to Lepanto, five stops away, 800 metres from the hotel. Guests can walk or take bus numbers 913 or 70 for four stops to Vittoria Colonna, 200 metres from the hotel. An alternative is to take bus 70 from Repubblica, opposite Termini station direct to Vittoria Colonna, 12 stops away. Taxis from Termini cost about 15 EUR. Taxis to the city centre cost about 60 EUR, and taking a metered licensed taxi is advised. The hotel can also arrange transport which costs 80 EUR from the airport and 50 EUR to the airport. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. The hotel is on Via Muzio Clementi. Rome's historic city centre is easy to explore on foot, as many attractions are located close together. The city has an efficient public transport system, including trams, buses, suburban trains, and metro (underground). Lepanto is the closest metro station to the hotel, 800 metres away. Tickets can be purchased from tobacconists and ATAC ticket machines, and should be bought prior to boarding. Single tickets cost 1 EUR, and are valid for 75 minutes, covering one metro trip and unlimited bus travel. Driving in the city centre is not advised for visitors. The hotel offers garage parking (surcharge).
